We know getting to Martha’s Vineyard can take a little extra planning, but don’t worry — you’ve got options. We’ve outlined a few routes below, and if you’re not sure which one’s best for you, feel free to reach out to us directly.

Flight

Martha's Vineyard Airport (MVY)

Fly directly to Martha’s Vineyard Airport (MVY), located right on the island.

Flight

Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport (PVD)

Fly to Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport (PVD) and take a taxi, Uber/Lyft, or rental car from the airport to the Rhode Island Fast Ferry terminal in Quonset Point, RI. It’s about a 20 minute drive from the airport to the ferry terminal. The Rhode Island Fast Ferry runs directly to Oak Bluffs on Martha’s Vineyard in about 95 minutes. Tickets can be reserved in advance at vineyardfastferry.com You’ll arrive right in Oak Bluffs, a central spot on the island, with taxis, Ubers, and shuttles available to take you to your accommodations.

Flight

Boston Logan International Airport (BOS)

Fly into Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) and take an Uber/Lyft or the Peter Pan Bus directly to the Steamship Authority ferry terminal in Woods Hole, MA (about 1.5–2 hours, depending on traffic). You can also rent a car to drive directly to the Steamship Authority ferry terminal. The Steamship Authority ferry runs 20 trips a day from Woods Hole to Martha’s Vineyard and takes about 45 minutes. Tickets can be purchased at steamshipauthority.com. Vehicle reservations are required if bringing a car, but passenger tickets do not need reservations. You can arrive in either Oak Bluffs or Vineyard Haven both with taxis, Ubers, and shuttles available to take you to your accommodations.

Travel Note

Taking Your Car to Martha’s Vineyard

If you’d like to bring your car with you, you’ll need to take the Steamship Authority ferry from Woods Hole, MA. This is the only ferry service that accommodates vehicles to and from Martha’s Vineyard. Here’s what to know: Reserve in advance - car spots sell out quickly, especially in summer. Reservations usually open in January for peak season and are strongly recommended. You can book online at steamshipauthority.com or by phone. Arrive at least 45 minutes early to check in your vehicle and get in line. Staff will direct you when it’s time to drive aboard. The ferry ride takes about 45 minutes and docks in either Vineyard Haven or Oak Bluffs, depending on your ticket. Once you arrive, you’ll simply drive off the ferry and onto the island.
