The Wedding Website of Cynthia Baker and Pablo Trigo Mouriño
Flight options, nearby accommodations, and travel tips!

Flight

Santiago-Rosalía de Castro (SCQ)

SCQ is the closest airport to the venue (~35 minutes by car). Travelers from outside Spain will usually connect to SCQ through Madrid-Barajas. This option has the overall least transit time to the venue, but be mindful of layover time buffers when booking. Traveling through SCQ is perfect for those adding a few days to explore Santiago de Compostela. If you prefer not to rent a car, there is public transportation to the city center from the terminal.

Flight

A Coruña (LCG)

This is the most interesting landing in Galicia thanks to a short runaway. Flying into LCG means a slightly longer car ride (~1h 9m) to the venue and surrounding towns. If you choose LCG, we recommend taking some time to explore the city and the adjacent coastline close to where Pablo grew up in Ferrol.

Flight

Vigo-Peinador (VGO)

VGO is the only airport in the region with connections to Charles de Gaulle, making this a great option if you like pain and suffering, and therefore enjoy traveling with Delta. The drive to the venue and surrounding area is longer (~1h 7m), but the route takes you along some of the most idyllic parts of Southern Galicia. You could easily extend the drive into a meandering road trip with beach and snack stops.

Flight

Madrid-Barajas (MAD)

This is the major connection hub for flights in Spain. It is a well-organized airport with lots of shops and places to grab a bite. Most international flights arrive at T4S. There is shuttle transit from T4S to T4 (or other), from which internal flights typically depart. We’d recommend aiming for a minimum 2 hour layover when flying Iberia, if possible, to avoid a non-zero chance of spending 6 extra hours in the airport. Most flights to regional Galician airports depart 3-4 times a day. Iberia has a special ticketing system for multi-day layovers in Madrid (Stopover Hola Madrid) which makes it easy to spend extra time exploring the city on your way in or out of Spain.

Travel Note

Car Rentals

Those planning to rent a car will find plenty of rental company options at all three regional airports. Manual transmission is the default in Spain. If you are uncomfortable driving stick, request an automatic car well in advance as rental companies generally keep lower stock. Pablo recommends using AutoEurope for rental reservations. If your travel is delayed for any reason, contact the rental company to ensure there will be an automatic vehicle available when you arrive. We recommend doing some research before your trip if you're unaccustomed to driving internationally. Driving in Spain is slightly different than in the US, and adherence to the rules is strongly emphasized. Click the link below to access a helpful guide for driving in Spain.

Train

Renfe

Train travel is a pleasant & affordable way to get around Spain or connect to other cities in Europe. If you're traveling from the U.S. and prefer not to drive, you can take the train from Madrid to Santiago de Compostela.
