We are getting married!

Guillermo and Cynthia first met during their first week at UC Santa Barbara, before classes had officially begun. There was an event at The Hub, a campus space where students gather to hang out, where Banda music was playing. Cynthia and her group of friends stopped by to check it out, and so did Guillermo and his friends. Guillermo happened to recognize someone in Cynthia’s group, and before long, they all decided to walk along the beach together. It was during that beach walk that Cynthia and Guillermo truly connected. They talked about where they came from, shared their majors, and from that moment on, the foundation of something special began. What started as two strangers quickly blossomed into study sessions, saving each other seats in class, and unknowingly, falling in love. A genuine friendship grew into an everlasting bond. Over the years, Guillermo and Cynthia have grown both individually and as a couple, continually supporting one another through life’s milestones. They each earned their bachelor’s degrees from UC Santa Barbara, traveled to 14 countries together, received offers for their first full-time jobs within a week of each other, and even helped one another negotiate their first cars. Their families have celebrated holidays together and traveled alongside one another, further strengthening their connection. Most recently, they completed their master’s degrees together and have been working in their respective field. From growing up together to now growing old together, their journey has been filled with love, growth, and unwavering support. Guillermo y Cynthia se conocieron durante su primera semana en UC Santa Barbara, antes de que comenzaran oficialmente las clases. Hubo un evento en The Hub, un espacio del campus donde los estudiantes se reúnen para convivir, donde sonaba música de Banda. Cynthia y su grupo de amigas pasaron a ver qué tal estaba, al igual que Guillermo y su grupo de amigos. Guillermo reconoció a alguien en el grupo de Cynthia, y pronto todos decidieron caminar juntos por la playa. Fue durante esa caminata por la playa donde Cynthia y Guillermo realmente conectaron. Hablaron sobre sus lugares de origen, compartieron sus carreras, y desde ese momento comenzó a formarse la base de algo especial. Lo que empezó como dos desconocidos pronto se convirtió en sesiones de estudio, guardar asientos en clase el uno al otro, y sin darse cuenta, enamorarse. Una amistad genuina creció hasta convertirse en un lazo eterno. A lo largo de los años, Guillermo y Cynthia han crecido tanto individualmente como en pareja, apoyándose mutuamente en cada etapa de la vida. Ambos obtuvieron sus títulos de licenciatura en UC Santa Barbara, viajaron juntos a 14 países, recibieron ofertas de sus primeros trabajos de tiempo completo con apenas una semana de diferencia, e incluso se ayudaron mutuamente a negociar la compra de sus primeros autos. Sus familias han celebrado fiestas juntos y viajado lado a lado, fortaleciendo aún más su conexión. Más recientemente, completaron juntos sus maestrías y han estado trabajando en sus respectivas profesiones. De crecer juntos a envejecer juntos, su viaje ha estado lleno de amor, crecimiento y apoyo incondicional.
