August 2024, at a church conference in Orlando while most of her friends were at movie night, Cydney decided on a whim to find her cousin Hinkley (shoutout) at game night — where Kaylon happened to be hanging out too. The night ended with a group trip to Buffalo Wild Wings, where Kaylon somehow managed to single Cydney out and talk to her for pretty much the entire meal. Her first thought? Wow, he talks a lot. But she was definitely interested. Kaylon, on the other hand, says he knew that very night that he wanted to marry her. Things moved quickly after that — two days later was their first hangout, a week later their first official date, and a week after that Kaylon asked Cydney to be his girlfriend. That same day, Cydney brought home her dog, Cletus. When Kaylon suggested the name, she jokingly told him that if he was going to name her dog, he’d have to stick around. That’s when he said he was actually hoping she’d be his girlfriend. From then on, they spent as much time together as possible, bouncing back and forth between Tifton and Waycross whenever they could. On May 16, 2025, Kaylon asked Cydney to lunch — which turned into a “short drive” all the way to Jekyll Island. On the beach, with tulips (her favorite flowers) and a photographer waiting, Kaylon proposed. The day ended with a surprise engagement party, and the beginning of forever. It didn’t take long for either of us to realize, we had found our person🤍
