The pool at the venue overlooks the olive groves and is open from 8am-8pm. Help yourself to any of the drinks and snacks we've stocked in the communal kitchen!
We've rented a few vespas for you to use for quick trips around the area. If you're interested in renting one as well, the hotel staff can help you.
Just 4km from Borgo Petrognano, Barberino Val d'Elsa is the nearest village where you can find a grocery stores and some restaurants. Recommendations for lunch spots: - La Sosta di Pio VII - Pizzeria Cafè Bijoù - Ristorante Cortefreda - Bar Sport 21
Bigger than Barberino Val D'else and a 10 minute drive from Borgo Petrognano. Here you will find bigger supermarkets and more food options.
Walk, drive, or take a vespa to go 1.4km from Borgo Petrognano to Cappella di San Michele Arcangelo a Semifonte, a beautiful 16th century chapel located on the high point in the area.
The town of San Gimignano is about 25 minutes from the venue by car. San Gimignano is one of our favorite places in Italy and one of the reasons we wanted to get married here! It's a medieval hilltop town with narrow streets and many cute shops and cafes to try. If you stop for food, make sure to try local Vernaccia wine. We highly recommend making your way to the top of Rocca of Montestaffoli for panoramic views of the city and valley. If you're craving more views of the valley, walk along Via Vecchia per Poggibonsi from the town's main parking lot.
The town of Pisa is about 1 hour 15 minutes drive from Borgo Petrognano. If seeing the leaning tower is on your bucket list, make an adventure out of it! You can snap a photo holding up the tower and try one of the abundant pizzerias, cafés or gelaterias in town.
If you're looking for a hike, we've found some options below: - Colle Val d'Elsa: An easy path past beautiful blue waterfalls and bridge crossings (3.8 miles, 20min from venue) - La Rocca di Montestaffoli: Hike through San Gimignano and the surrounding Elsa Valley (up to 5.8 miles, 25min from venue) See link for more details about each trail
Siena is another medieval town with unique architecture about 35 minute from the venue. Check out the cathedral known for its unique striped design.
We've planned a wine tasting for Saturday evening, but if that won't satisfy your need to try as much wine as possible (you are in Italy after all!), there are many local wineries around where you can organize a tour or tasting.
