Question

When Should I Arrive To Italy?

Answer

Your presence is requested at Castello Di Ristonchi from Friday, October 23rd, 2026 at 6pm through Monday, October 26th, 2026 at 11am. Danielle and Curtis will be arriving in Florence a few days before the celebrations, if you arrive early to Florence, we’d love to see you and will happily suggest some must-see sights and experiences.

Question

How Do We Get There?

Answer

A round trip shuttle from Florence to Castello di Ristonchi will be available for guests arriving on October 23rd and departing on October 26th. See the "Travel" tab for more information on the shuttle and additional travel details. Once you've made your travel plans, please share the details with us by visiting the "Google Form" tab.

Question

Where Are We Staying?

Answer

The castello has 30 apartments, from studio to 2-bedroom. Each apartment has a private bathroom and kitchenette. Some of the bathrooms are small and quirky, but that's the fun of staying in an old castle. When you wake up, you know you are in Tuscany! Some apartments in the tower have lots of stairs, but the best views! As guests RSVP, we will work with the castle to assign rooms. Ristonchi is a medieval castle surrounded by olive groves and a forest of chestnut trees and wild edibles. It's not the Four Seasons! There won't be daily cleanings, but all of the basics will be provided: clean sheets, towels, pillows, blankets, toilet paper, soap, shampoo. There is no air conditioning in this 1000 year-old castle but there is heating. The thick stone walls and fresh mountain breeze should keep you comfortable, or there is a fresh mountain spring water pool that will definitely do the trick!

Question

Why Am I Being Asked To Submit A Payment With My RSVP?

Answer

To secure your lodging for the three nights, a payment of 500 EURO per person is required. This payment should be made at the time of RSVP to confirm your room. Due to the complexities of planning a destination wedding in Europe, all lodging must be reserved by the date specified on your RSVP mailer.

Question

What Are The Amenities?

Answer

The basics are provided: clean sheets, towels, pillows, blankets, toilet paper, soap, shampoo. There are no laundry facilities onsite. The castle staff can set up an ironing/steaming station for anyone needing to iron their clothes during their stay. Meals are provided and there is a bar and small shop where you can buy coffee, drinks, ice cream and snacks. Some events are open bar, and at others we'll provide wine and beer with additional beverages available for purchase - you can charge them to your room and pay upon check-out. Please do NOT bring outside food or beverages, but please DO bring a reusable water bottle - the castle strives to be sustainable and there is fresh spring water available right out of the tap! The castle is pretty secluded - there is no pharmacy, grocery or convenience store nearby. Please try to bring everything you'll need for the weekend (including medication) with you!

Question

What Should I Pack?

Answer

Please take a look at the schedule of events and plan to bring clothing appropriate for each activity under the attire page. Other packing suggestions include: A reusable water bottle (Ristonchi tap water is fresh spring water!) Italian adapters and converters (3 prongs) Sunscreen Mosquito repellant/ after bite cream Copies of your passport Medical information and medication list Medication for emergencies (tylenol/ibuprofen, allergy meds, etc) Comfortable shoes (if you plan on walking or hiking) Euros and credit cards We have a full slate of activities planned, but please feel free to bring any books, board games, pool toys/games, etc that you'd like!

Question

Do I Have A Plus One/ Are Kids Allowed?

Answer

Due to the intimate nature of our wedding, the name(s) on your invite envelope are the only guests who are included. We kindly request that nobody under the age of 18 is in attendance unless otherwise specified. If you have any questions, please reach out to Curtis & Danielle.

Question

Is There Wifi At The Castle?

Answer

Absolutely! WiFi is available in the common areas, outside, and in the Castello/Tower apartments. However, the Fattoria and Borghetto apartments have very thick stone walls, which prevent the WiFi from reaching those areas.

Question

Do I Need A European Visa?

Answer

As of mid-2026 all citizens outside of the EU traveling to most of Europe will need to apply for a European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS) waiver before arrival to enter Italy. Current information suggests that getting an ETIAS online will take approximately 5 minutes for approval and will only cost 20 EUROS. The exact launch date has not been confirmed, but the European Union website cites "late-2026" as the official start date.

Question

What If My Passport Is Close To Expiring?

Answer

As a US citizen, your passport needs to be valid THREE MONTHS after the date you return in order to travel to Italy.

Question

I Have Dietary Restrictions or Preferences, Can I Make a Special Request?

Answer

Yes! We are collecting dietary information on the RSVP page. Please provide all the necessary details.

Question

What If I Need To Cancel?

Answer

We encourage you to purchase international travel insurance when booking your trip. For a minimal cost, in the event of an emergency, the insurance will reimburse you for lodging and flight costs. Unfortunately, last-minute cancellations will not be refunded from the Castle.

Question

Can I Arrive Early or Stay Later?

Answer

We encourage you to travel while in Italy but unfortunately your stay can not be extended at the castle as there is a strict check in time of 4pm on Friday the 23rd and a strict checkout time of 11am on Monday the 26th of October.
