Curtis and Rebecca met at Hillsdale High School in 2013, and became close friends and started dating in the span of about two months. Their first official date involved biking along the Foster City Levee and chatting. Rebecca didn't know it at the time, but Curtis had to bike 6 miles to get to Foster City and 6 miles home! Although college kept them physically apart for 4 years, their love for each other never wavered. Once Rebecca came home, with the support of their families, Curtis and Rebecca began living together in Castro Valley and welcomed their cats, Baloo and Mochi, into their family in 2021 and 2023. Living together proved its challenges in the beginning, but has been wonderful. After completing her undergraduate degree, Rebecca decided to continue her education in physical therapy. During this time, Curtis began planning his proposal with the help of Rebecca's best friend, Deanna Pappas. Curtis pulled off a surprise proposal in the vineyards of Healdsburg after a day of wine tasting, followed by a nap when they arrived home!
