This retired L line has been transformed into a beautiful pedestrian walk way. This a great spot for walkers, runners, and pup walkers. The pathway is scenic and offers a casual stroll through some adorable Bucktown and Wicker Park neighborhoods.
This recommendation may seem odd- but if you're looking to kill time or pick up some snacks or maybe even a last minute wedding card (wink wink), this is the place to do it! Before this building housed a Walgreens, it was a bank. This Walgreens sports tall ornate ceilings and a vitamin vault.
Another great place to eat in Wicker Park. Big Star often sports a wait, but it's worth it! They offer great tacos, guacamole, salsa, margaritas, and a sunny patio. If you're not interested in waiting, they do offer a walk up window! Order your tacos and then picnic in Wicker Park right next door!
This little strip of shops and restaurants on Damen between Wabansia and North offers much to be had. Whether you're window shopping or looking to add something to your wardrobe, this is a great little spot to shop. If you don't find what you're looking for on Damen, keep walking south to Milwaukee Ave. Just past North Ave, you'll find more stores, coffee shops, ice cream, and restaurants.
