Getting to Bordeaux

There are several ways to reach the Bordeaux region: Flying into Paris – This is often the most affordable way to get to France. From Paris, you can continue on by train or a connecting flight. Flying directly to Bordeaux – If you don’t plan to spend time in Paris, consider flying into Bordeaux from Newark or JFK, where there are several flight options. From Paris to the Bordeaux Region Please note: the Gare Montparnasse train station (for trains to Bordeaux and Libourne) is located in central Paris, about an hour by car from Charles de Gaulle (CDG) airport. From Paris, we recommend taking the train to either: Libourne – 3.5 hours from Paris Montparnasse; 20 minutes from Château Rigaud Bordeaux – 2 hours from Paris Montparnasse, or 4 hours directly from Charles de Gaulle; about 1 hour from Château Rigaud From Bordeaux Whether you arrive by plane or train, it takes approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour to reach Château Rigaud. Driving directions from both Bordeaux airport and Bordeaux train station are available.

Getting to Chateau Rigaud

Having a car is the best way to experience the beauty of the Bordeaux countryside at your own pace. Car Hire Options Airports & Train Stations: All major car rental agencies are available at Bordeaux Airport and Bordeaux Saint-Jean Train Station. Libourne: Europcar also has an office at Libourne railway station. Other Transportation Options Taxis: Available but less frequent in rural areas and quite expensive. A taxi from Bordeaux Airport or Bordeaux Saint-Jean Train Station to Château Rigaud is approximately €150. Uber: May be available for pick-up at the airport or train station, but return trips from Château Rigaud can be difficult to secure due to the rural location. Transfers to Château Rigaud Private Minibuses: For transfers from Bordeaux Airport or Bordeaux Saint-Jean Train Station, we have two minibuses available (8 passengers each) at a cost of €190 per vehicle. Group Coach: From Bordeaux Saint-Jean Train Station, a larger coach may be arranged if there is enough interest. We’ll collect sign-ups closer to the date.
