Is it safe to travel to France in a pandemic?
Answer
It's safer than Virginia (and most U.S. states)! France currently has a 78% vaccination rate, while Virginia is currently at 72%. Be sure to bring your masks for the flight.

Do I have time to get a passport?
Answer
Yes, but hurry! Currently, there are longer than usual wait-times for passports. You might want to consider paying the extra $20 to expedite your passport application/renewal. And make sure that your passport is not set to expire within six months of your departure date!

Do I need vaccination certification?
Answer
Yes! France requires all incoming travelers to provide proof that you are fully vaccinated (this includes a booster within 9 months of initial vaccination). For entry to restaurants, hotels, etc. you will need to download the French "TousAntiCovid" app and apply for an EU vaccination certification QR code. How will I get around?

I would suggest renting a car at the airport. For this you will need an international driving permit. These are easy to apply for and only cost $20. Here is the link through AAA: https://www.aaa.com/vacation/idpf.html ***Ask your hotel/host about parking. Not all hotels/hosts provide any parking*** You can also travel by train. The train around the South of France is much slower, so I would not suggest it for longer journeys. The nearest stop is in Carnoles, 15 minutes by foot from Roquebrune. There are also a number of taxi services in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin and Monaco.

What do I wear to casinos in Monte Carlo?
Answer
For Casino Monte Carlo: During the day, slacks and a nice shirt, dresses, and skirts are appropriate. At night, Women should wear a nice dress, skirt, or dress slacks and men should wear a jacket and tie (most men wear suits). They will not admit anyone wearing shorts, jeans, sneakers, flipflops, beachwear, etc.
