A quintessential Seattle staple, don't forget to stop and check out Pike Market, the 100+ year farmers market that houses fresh produce, flowers, tons of local art and, of course, fish. There are tons of restaurants and attractions around the area, so we highly recommend spending some time here if you've never been to Seattle before!
This unique park sits atop the former Seattle Gas Light Company's gasification plant and now remnants of the gas plant have been turned into a play structure which make it a very unique spectacle. On a nice day, this park is packed with families, dogs, picnickers and even aerialists as you'll see it has a spectacular view of Lake Union and downtown. Pack some snacks, watch the boats and kayakers go by and you might even see a sea plane make landing on the water.
One of the best ways to explore the sites of Seattle is by water since there is such an abundance of it! Agua Verde Club offers kayak and paddle board rentals by the hour. There are several routes you can take, so you can either cruise by the house boats and take in the downtown view or wander through the water trails of the arboretum. Afterwards, you can get tacos and margaritas at the Agua Verde Cafe! *If you decide to rent kayaks, you'll want to make a reservation ahead of time!*
On Sundays, you can feel like a local and check out the Ballard Farmer's Market! This is one of our favorite things to do on a Sunday afternoon. Local jams, honeys, teas and candles are just a few of the things you'll find at this market. There are also great restaurants in the area that will make for the perfect lunch spot after you peruse the farmers market.
