Groom
Father of the Bride
1. Bride's change: When Carolyn was little, she hated Chinese school so much that she quit before making it to graduation. But now she can say to me, "My Mandarin is better than yours!" Also, she has become more loving, considerate and accommodating. She thinks more of others and less of herself. 2. Appreciate about in-law: David is polite and respectful. He's humourous too. Wait a minute... maybe it was Carolyn who made him take funny photos. 3. Favourite thing about yourself: I am organized and pay attention to details. 4. Annoyed by: Anything that shouldn't belong to the floor but is left lying on the floor, such as books, handbags, underwear, socks. 5. Advice: "The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why." - Mark Twain

Mother of the Groom
1. Groom's change: He is more willing to communicate with us, thinks things through, and has more patience. 2. Appreciate about in-law: My son likes her, so I also like her. Their happiness is my happiness. 3. Favorite thing about yourself: I am sincere towards other people and considerate of their needs. 4. Annoyed by: When people are ungrateful, and when people speak or act a certain way but don't mean it in their hearts. 5. Advice: "Always be grateful. Gains and losses in life are a matter of perspective: so be content with where you're at."
Maid of Honor
1. First impression: I came out of our mother's womb, and Carolyn was there. My first impression of her was that she was a leader and a very dominant person at home, but quiet outside. 2. Favourite thing about yourself: The ratio of my wrist size to my hand size. As a kid, I used to think my hands might fall off because my wrist was so small. 3. Animal: I'm a crustacean because it's hard to get to my soft side. 4. Annoyed by: When people lecture me on something I had no control over. 5. Advice: "Strong relationships come from communication and understanding."
Best Man
1. First impression: I don't remember meeting newborn David because I was 2 years old, but earliest impressions include the fact that he was definitely the cuter sibling (he once modeled for a Kodak commercial) and that he was gullible enough that I could usually make him do what I wanted. 2. Favorite thing about yourself: I like my ability to chill in uncertainty. 3. Animal: Owls are colorblind, just like me (and David). 4. Annoyed by: Roommates who slam doors. 5. Advice: "You are never more than a half step away from a right note." -Victor Wooten
Bridesmaid
1. First impression: I came out of the womb and boom! She gave me kisses as though I were at a waterpark, and I really hated it. 2. Favourite thing about yourself: My ability to look super trusting so that strangers spill everything to me. 3. Animal: Someone said I’m like a horse because I can be gentle and still have strength and tenacity. 4. Annoyed by: When people make assumptions about me that are untrue. 5. Advice: "When your emotions are in turmoil, use them to create something meaningful, like writing a poem or playing music."
Groomsman
1. First impression: I met David in China in 2013, but it was the following year when we were neighbors working at the same university that I got to know him. I say neighbors, but really more like roommates, as we had our doors open all the time and would often go over and hang out. I thought he was a kind person who was constantly thinking about the world and why people act the way they do. But mostly, I found him fun to talk to. 2. Fav thing about yourself: I suppose I appreciate my smile, I mean, I did spend time practicing it when I was younger, so it ought to be good. 3. Animal: I'm like a golden retriever. Kinda derpy but fun most of the time. 4. Annoyed by: People who can't walk straight and then get in my way. 5. Advice: "Don't die. But if you have to, get to know Jesus first."
Bridesmaid
1. First impression: I met Carolyn in elementary school. My first impression of her was that she's very small but was very good at basketball and drawing penguins. I wanted to be her friend and hang out at her big house. 2. Favourite thing about yourself: I like my bluntness and my nostrils. 3. Animal: I am like a ferret. I am long, gassy and attack small animals. 4. Annoyed by: When people can't see that I'm funny. 5. Advice: "Honey is delicious, don't drink caffeine after 1 PM, and bring reusable tote bags when buying groceries."
Groomsman
1. First impression I remember meeting him at a Saturday morning prayer for our Christian fellowship at UC Berkeley. I thought he was an earnest, sweet kid who seemed a bit on the shy side. Little did I know that I was meeting one of the most extroverted students of that year! 2. Favorite thing about yourself: My jolly, hearty laugh. I'm told it's a very melodic sort of laugh. I have found that my ability to find the humor in most situations helps to disarm others and make them feel comfortable. 3. Animal: I am most like a manatee. Manatees like to be in water, and they are slow-moving, gentle creatures. 4. Annoyed by: Individuals who are inconsiderate and unkind, who deliberately make others feel bad. 5. Advice: "Sow kindness in any and all situations with any and all people."
