In 2018, Cam and Caumera were looking for something on the internet. It turned out, that thing was love by way of OKCupid.com. They answered many questions to determine compatibility and MATCHED at 99%! Cam contacted Caumera and after going back and forth, decided to ask her out on a date. They met at Blipsy Barcade to get to know each other over pinball and cocktails - unaware that 4 years later it would be the place that Caumera said YES!
Was their proposal a complete surprise? Cam and Caumera wish they could tell you yes; however, they would rather not mislead you. After having conversations about getting married, creating ring decks and MANY wedding mood boards, purchasing a custom ring, and a few white lies, there was no way Caumera didn't see a proposal was coming. First, Cam worked with Caumera to compile a list of their closest friends in LA. Next, he got the ring, played off its delivery as tax documents, and hid it under the bed; this strategy both worked and terrorized Caumera with suspicion. Cam contacted the bar where they first met and secretly told all of their friends where and when to meet. After a COVID-19 scare that almost fumbled his plans, he took Caumera to Osteria La Buca for dinner and drinks. Finally, he brought her back to Blipsy Barcade, where upon entering, she could see all their friends standing in anticipation for the moment he got down on one knee.
In their pre-planning of wedding ideas before the proposal, Caumera stressed that she wanted their day to feel Parisian. The city of light and love had been her absolute favorite to visit, and she pictured one day tying the knot there. So after he popped the question and the ACTUAL planning began, Cam pondered aloud, "Why don't we elope in Paris? Haven't you always wanted to?" With just two questions, a plan took form, and Caumera's love for her fiancé increased exponentially. Though Cam is making her dreams come true, and due to french laws prohibiting them from legally marrying abroad, they both want to celebrate their marriage with their closest friends and family in the city where they fell in love. Though they'll share vows in Paris on June 16, 2023, they'll sign papers making their union legal on February 17, 2023, with a cocktail party to follow.
