Things To Do

A few of our favorite places to eat, drink, and explore in Sacramento

Star Lounge

2719 K Street, Sacramento, CA 95816

We went here on our first date and got engaged here a year later. Craft cocktails and elevated California cuisine in a beautiful Romanesque Revival building that dates back to 1928. Fun fact: Eleni's mom was the Honored Queen at a Job's Daughters ceremony here in the 70's as a teen!

Henry's Lounge

2019 O Street, Sacramento, CA 95811

Lively sports bar that's a great place to watch the game and nosh on some wings. If you happen to be here on a Wednesday night you'll catch us with our beloved trivia team, David Bowie's Third Nipple, playing for the trivia crown.

Majka Pizzeria

1704 15th Street, Sacramento, CA 95814

The best naturally leavened pizzas in town, recognized by the Michelin guide and with a rotating roster of unique vegetarian toppings. Get a side of the green sauce, it's addicting.

Ro Sham Beaux

2413 J Street, Sacramento, CA 95816

Charming natural wine bar with all of Eleni and Kyriako's favorite snacks--tinned fish, olive plates, and fancy potato chips, oh my! Follow your vino up with some chocolate at Ginger Elizabeth next door.

Kinjo Hand Roll Bar

2026 16th Street, Sacramento, CA 95818

One of our go-to date night spots for succulent fresh sushi hand rolls and Japanese bar bites. Eleni and Kyriako used to both live nearby before they even knew each other existed. It's kismet!

The Sofia, Home of B Street Theatre

2700 Capitol Avenue, Sacramento, CA 95816

Catch a play, concert, or comedy show at this Sacramento arts institution that's been going strong for 35 years and counting.

Tower Theatre

2508 Land Park Drive, Sacramento, CA 95818

A historic movie theater showing a mix of art-house films, foreign cinema, and retro classics. Eleni's favorite spot to take in an afternoon matinee.

McKinley Park

601 Alhambra Boulevard, Sacramento, CA 95816

Get your steps in or enjoy an alfresco picnic at one of the most beautiful parks in Sacramento, located across the street from the church we are getting married at. Make sure to stop and smell the roses in the famous rose garden, featured in the film "Lady Bird".

Old Sacramento

Sacramento, CA

Step back in time to the gold rush days at the Old Sacramento waterfront historic district, located downtown. Parking is available near 3rd & I St and near the Tower Bridge. Lots of fun shops, restaurants, and old-timey vibes.

California State Railroad Museum

125 I Street, Sacramento, CA 95814

Not into trains? You will be after a trip to the Railroad Museum! Seriously, it is fun for kids and adults of all ages. So much more than trains, but the replica train cars you get to walk through are pretty neat.

Crocker Art Museum

216 O Street, Sacramento, CA 95814

The oldest continuously operating art museum in the Western United States, the Crocker has an impressive collection including rotating exhibitions; California art dating from the Gold Rush to the present; a renowned collection of Master Drawings and European paintings; one of the largest international ceramics collections in the United States; and collections of Asian, African, and Oceanic art. Check their event calendar, Eleni recommends ArtMix events.
