FAQs

As of August, we are proceeding with wedding celebration plans with the hopes that vaccines will make it safe enough for us to gather in October. We'll keep you posted here should public health in Boulder complicate those plans. We're available any time at 303-319-1335 or ekomloshrobs@gmail.com for questions and concerns.
Question

I'm thinking about COVID safety at the party. What should I know?

Answer

We're thinking about this too (constantly! agonizingly!). As of September 2, Colorado law requires that everyone wear a mask at any indoor gathering, regardless of their vaccination status. This means that all guests will need to be masked at the party when not eating or drinking. It is possible that this rule will change by October 9; if that happens, we'll let you know. The Gold Hill staff have verified that they will be masked. It may also be helpful to know that vaccination rates are extremely good in Boulder, over 83% as of August. We understand that everyone's risk factors are different and if travel simply feels too fraught right now for you to enjoy attending, we respect that too.

Question

What's the drive like from Boulder to the Gold Hill Inn? Where should I park?

Answer

The Gold Hill Inn is about twenty-five minutes away from downtown Boulder. The easiest way to get there is to drive west on Mapleton Avenue until it turns into Sunshine Canyon Drive, which will take you straight to Gold Hill. (There's only one spot where there's even a slight fork in the road: About halfway up to Gold Hill, at a fire danger rating sign, you'll keep left onto a dirt road rather than taking the paved road that forks off to the right leading downhill. You'll know you're on the correct route if you see a fire station on your right a minute or two later.) Keep on going for another fifteen minutes or so and you'll arrive in Gold Hill! The Gold Hill Inn will be on your left. You can park anywhere you'd like along the road. It's worth noting that stretches of this road are unpaved (although well-trafficked by the many folks who live in the mountains around Gold Hill). If you'd rather not drive this yourself, we'll be offering shuttles to get you to and from the party.

Question

I'm traveling from out of state. What should I know about altitude sickness?

Answer

Altitude sickness is generally not a big deal, but it can affect some visitors to Colorado. It may make you feel tired or headachy. For most people, the symptoms are mild, if they're felt at all. The best way to beat altitude sickness is to drink lots of water. It's wise to stay hydrated throughout the day, and especially if hiking. Tourist shops will try to sell you oxygen canisters but we're skeptical.

Question

What is the greatest rodent?

Answer

The greatest rodent is the sengi, equalled only by all other rodents. View some choice images of the sengi here (view on a laptop and click for the full A-V experience): https://mkigikm.github.io/beautiful-sengi
