This Bible verse spoke to us and seemed especially appropriate as we tried to proceed with planning our wedding during a pandemic. We realized it is also relevant to our story of how we met, when neither of our lives were looking much like what we had planned for ourselves... Robert had gone through a divorce he'd never expected and was ready to give online dating a shot even though he didn't really have high hopes. (Props to friends Steve and Kelsey for giving him the reality check that yes, this is how people meet anymore.) Julia had been waiting to find her Mr. Right for so much longer than she'd expected and was trying to stay motivated to keep up with online dating. (Props to friend Katy for encouraging her to get back in the online game after calling it quits for a while.) We believe the Lord guided our steps to bring us from a brief conversation on a dating app to realizing we were meant to be husband and wife. We knew that if He could bring us together, we could trust Him with our wedding, whatever it would look like in these crazy times, as well as with our marriage. If you are on this website, it is because you are someone we love and hope to be able to celebrate with! Thank you so much for being in our lives and supporting us! Love, Crowe & J Crowe
We had a small, beautiful wedding in our friend’s picture perfect backyard. In spite of the crazy circumstances we praise God that we were able to keep our planned date and have a wonderful wedding day that was memorable for all the right reasons. Thank you so much to everyone who helped make it possible! If you missed it (or want to relive the magic), our ceremony is on YouTube! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N8MBjKJUA4o
We will celebrate at the Pinstripes restaurant in North Bethesda, Maryland, in the Pike & Rose town center. Pike & Rose is very special to us because it's where we had our first date (at the Summer House restaurant) and our second date later the same week (a cooking class at Sur La Table), and it became our usual mid-week date spot because it was a short drive from Julia's work, metro accessible for Robert, and had lots of great restaurant options. We had somehow never been to Pinstripes until we started scoping out wedding venues, but its fun yet classy vibe seemed like the perfect fit for us (being as fun and classy as we are). See the “10/2/21” page for more details.
We are coming to Panama City, Florida (Robert's hometown) for bonus celebrating with Florida friends and family.
