Oakbrook Mall is one of the largest shopping centers in the Chicagoland area. Stroll through the various shops or stop for a bite to eat at one of the many restaurants at our favorite outside mall.
The Morton Arboretum is a public garden and outdoor museum with rotating art exhibits and outdoor trails. We love this spot so much we initially considered as a possible wedding venue.
A family friendly option in the western suburbs of Chicago. Fun fact this zoo is only minutes from where Will works as an OBGYN resident at Loyola Medical Center!
Where do we begin?? Chicagoans always say we put up with Chicago winters because of Chicago summers. And they aren't kidding. Downtown in August is beautiful and we have so many recommendations they will not fit in one paragraph but here are some brief suggestions. Enjoy happy hour at a rooftop bar such as Cindy's or JParker, walk along part of the 18.5 mile Lakefront Trail, tour the Lincoln Park Zoo that is only blocks west of Lake Michigan, ask Leslie Winter for her favorites at the Chicago Art Institute, pick one or all museums at the Museum Campus near Soldier Field including the Field Museum, the Planatarium, the Shedd Aquarium, kayak down the Chicago River, shop along Michigan Avenue. Please don't hesitate to ask us for restaurant and/or cocktail bar recommendations as we have many favorites!
