Bolton Valley holds a special place in our hearts. One of our favorite local spots to get out and enjoy what VT has to offer. In the warmer months they offer lift service downhill mountain biking, disc golf, hiking, live music on the lawn, and a recreation center with pool/hot tub/sauna.
The Burlington Greenway Bike/Walk Path is a popular attraction all year round. Featuring eight miles of paved path, with aggregate shoulders for runners and walkers. Situated on the Lake Champlain shoreline, the path starts south of Oakledge park and runs north to the Winooski River. Along the way, the Greenway connects many major parks and facilities with residential neighborhoods and downtown Burlington commercial districts. The northern end of the Greenway features a few miles of packed gravel on a narrow causeway over western Lake Champlain, making for a spectacular view. Take the seasonal Bike Ferry to continue riding into the Champlain Islands.
Waterbury site is the only Ben & Jerry’s factory open to the public. Their very first factory, built in 1985, continues to manufacture upwards of 350,000 pints per day while offering the public a sneak peek at their humble beginnings. They have a Scoop shop, retail area, flavor graveyard, and tour route.
Visit Church Street Marketplace for local breweries (Foam Brewers is our favorite!), the art district, dining, and retail shops. No visit to Burlington is complete without a stroll down the bricks of the Church Street Marketplace. The Marketplace is the heart of Burlington and a hub of commerce, activity, and community engagement. You’ll discover over 100 shops, restaurants, and local small businesses within four pedestrian blocks.
Book a cruise on the Spirit of Ethan Allen on Lake Champlain. During their scenic narrated tour, the ship heads north, towards Lone Rock Point. It loops around Juniper Island, goes past Rock Dunder and into Shelburne Bay. From there it heads back through the South End of Burlington. In the evenings, it’s the Captain’s choice. Their evening trips are always an exciting and surprising adventure – the captains know the best spots to view the prettiest sunsets!
We got engaged at the top of Camels Hump, needless to say this is a sight to see if you like to hike! This hike will offer 360 views if you're lucky enough to not get caught in the clouds!
