Attire is semi-formal/dressy casual... google it if you're confused ;) Our wedding is at a freaking zoo and botanical garden! Which we are so excited about, but it is a little dusty and has uneven ground in places. Women may want to opt for a thicker heel, wedge or flat for the most comfort. FYI, the average temperature highs and lows for March 30th in Palm Desert are 85 degrees to 57 degrees. In the low desert, temps get hot during the day and drop significantly at night. We will have some heat lamps, fire pits and blankets at the reception, but we also suggest having a jacket or shawl if you don't mind carrying it for the ceremony so you can be prepared for the possible drastic change in temperatures :)
There is a parking lot where guests can park for free and even leave their cars overnight to pick up in the morning. The Living Desert will be closed to patrons by the time of our event, so the parking lot should be pretty empty when you would be arriving. It's a pretty big lot, but we do suggest carpooling, taxiing or using ride sharing apps like Uber or Lyft to get to the venue so you can enjoy yourself without worry :)
Ceremony starts at 4pm, followed by cocktail hour, then dinner and dancing! The city of Palm Desert has a noise ordinance for outdoor music at 10pm, so the party starts shutting down at the venue at 9:30, but we're planning a low key (aka very little planning involved) after party at Red Barn, a dive bar a short distance away from The Living Desert. They will know that a large group is coming, and we will order some pizzas for the ultimate late night snack, but other than that, it will be a pretty informal event.
Wine, beer and a signature drink or two will be provided at the cocktail hour and reception ;)
We know some of you have dietary restrictions, so we've tried our best to accommodate everyone with our menu (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, etc.). All foods with be clearly labeled, and most food items will actually fit under all of these categories anyway! General rule of thumb, per our caterer: If it looks like it's meat, cheese or ice cream, it is not vegan. If it looks like bread or crackers, it is not gluten free
Firstly, we want to see your beautiful faces, not your devices! And more importantly, we're so excited to have asked a WONDERFUL photographer to capture all the special moments of our wedding day, and we want her to be able to do the job we've hired her for. We would much rather you be present with us while we say "I do". :)* *Personal photos, silly photo booth pictures (the sillier the better), instagram-ing, facebook-ing, snapchat-ing, periscope-ing, vine-ing, linked in-ing, myspace-ing, are all encouraged AFTER the ceremony!
We LOVE your children. We have a large amount of children in our family that will be in and at the wedding, AND our venue is a ZOO, so we understand the great appeal to children! That being said, we encourage our friends to try and make arrangements so that you can really cut loose with us ;) If that's too big of an inconvenience, we understand, just let us know!
We've hired an AWESOME wedding coordinator: Marissa Sanchez from The Modern Party. Here's her contact info: 310-854-2278. Please contact her if you have any questions the day of the wedding :)
Check out our "How to get where you're goin'" tab! We've put LOTS of options on there :)

Yes. After much deliberation and discussion, we've decided to go with... #CristinaGetsMitched
If you're invitation says "and guest", or names your guest, then YES! If not, then no... obviously. Don't be rude. (-Mitch)
