We have the most Alaskan story of all time. After hearing about this great annual party at one of my friend's husband's friends house (you read that right!) on the lake for the Iditarod Restart, I was finally in the car ready to go. I was so excited! I arrived in great spirits, walking in with my friend Kathryn, and ready to party, see friends, enjoy the frozen lake, and wave to all the cute puppies as they begin the start of the longest dog mushing race. Mike was sitting at the kitchen bar and while I thought he was cute, I also didn't think twice because I was there for the pups. But he just kept being around! Turns out he thought I was kind of cute too... So we chatted some and he helped me find another friend's group, we took an eventful snowcat ride on the frozen lake, and in the end I gave him my number. He showed up for our first date in carhartt overalls with beer ready to show me how to build my first snowman. Turns out he's pretty good at building a snowman, and from then on we just kept hanging out. Turns out he makes me laugh all the time, ensures everyday that I know just how much I mean to him, and makes me feel like the luckiest girl in the world.
