Visit Leesburg Historic District
Take a walk down King Street in old town Leesburg and pop into a variety of cute shops and restaurants. After their walk around Ball's Bluff, Cristina and Lyle continued their first date in Leesburg and had dinner at King Street Oyster Bar. Explore Ball’s Bluff Battlefield Regional Park
Ball's Bluff Battlefield Regional Park is a special treat for history lovers and nature enthusiasts! Cristina and Lyle hiked the path along the Potomac River on their first date. Follow the gravel road to access the parking lot.
Take the metro into Washington DC
The Silver Line of the Washington Metro connects Ashburn VA to Washington DC. The Ashburn Metro Rail Station is located at 43624 Croson Lane. The ride from Ashburn Station to the Smithsonian Station takes about one hour. You will arrive at the National Mall and be within walking distance to a variety of locations such as multiple Smithsonian museums, the Washington Monument, the White House, and the Lincoln Memorial.
Tour Shenandoah National Park
If you have extra time on your vacation, we highly recommend spending a day exploring Shenandoah National Park. The drive along the famous Skyline Drive provides stunning views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and takes a little more than an hour to get to the park from Leesburg. Use the Front Royal (North Entrance) which is the address listed here. If you are interested in hiking, there are several trails along the way; otherwise you can tour from the comfort of your car.
