Mother of the Bride
My mom taught me about love and the importance of family. Her guidance, care, and constant support shaped who I am, and I feel incredibly lucky to have her by my side on ym wedding day. Some of my favorite memories are with my mom, from our walks and bike rides through the orchards to shopping trips before each school year. Even as a working mom, she always made herself available for me. No matter what new adventure or hobby I wanted to try, she supported me wholeheartedly. Whether I suddenly wanted to play the clarinet, switched to drums, or decided to run track, her response was always the same: “Okay, let’s get you what you need.” She showed me what unconditional love and support look like, and I am so grateful to carry her lessons with me into this next chapter. - Mi mamá me enseñó sobre el amor y la importancia de la familia. Su guía, cariño y apoyo constante moldearon la persona que soy, y me siento increíblemente afortunada de tenerla a mi lado hoy. Algunos de mis recuerdos favoritos con ella son nuestras caminatas y paseos en bicicleta por el huerto, y las compras antes de cada año escolar. Aun siendo una mamá con carrera, siempre estuvo disponible para mí. Sin importar la nueva aventura o pasatiempo que quisiera intentar, siempre me apoyó. Su respuesta siempre era la misma: “Está bien, veamos qué necesitas.” Me enseñó lo que realmente significa amar y apoyar incondicionalmente, y estoy muy agradecida de llevar conmigo sus enseñanzas en este nuevo capítulo.

Growing up, it was clear I was always a daddy’s girl. I wanted to mimic everything my dad did, following closely behind him and believing there was nothing he could not do. To me, he was capable of anything. One night, lying in my crib, I remember asking him to “turn off the moon” because it was shining too brightly through my window. In my innocence, I truly believed he was powerful enough to make it happen. Now, as I prepare to walk down the aisle, I realize that while he may not have been able to turn off the moon, he did something even greater. He made me feel safe enough to believe anything was possible. His strength, love, and steady presence shaped the person I am today, and I feel incredibly lucky to have him by my side. - Siempre fue claro que yo era una niña de papi. Quería imitar todo lo que hacía mi papá, siguiéndolo de cerca y creyendo que no había nada que él no pudiera hacer. Para mí, era el hombre más fuerte del mundo, capaz de todo. Una noche, acostada en mi cuna, recuerdo haberle pedido que “apagara la luna” porque brillaba demasiado a través de mi ventana. En mi inocencia, realmente creía que podía hacerlo. Ahora, mientras me preparo para caminar hacia el altar, me doy cuenta de que, aunque quizá no podía apagar la luna, hizo algo aún más grande. Me hizo sentir lo suficientemente segura como para creer que todo era posible. Su fuerza, amor y presencia constante moldearon la persona que soy hoy, y me siento increíblemente afortunada de tenerlo a mi lado.

My mom is one of the most important people in my life. She has always been my greatest source of support, my guide, and my role model. No matter the moment, she always knows how to make me smile. She is a hardworking, strong woman and the true pillar of our family—always reminding me that she is more than ready for grandchildren. Even though we live far apart, distance has never been an obstacle; our relationship remains just as close, filled with laughter, love, and affection. A great part of the person I am today is thanks to my mom and I am very happy to be able to share this special day with her. Mi mamá es una de las personas mas importantes en mi vida. Siempre ha sido mi mayor apoyo, mi guia y mi ejemplo a seguir. Tambien sabe sacarme una sonrisa en cualquier momento. Es una mujer trabajadora, fuerte y el verdadero pilar de nuestra familia y siempre me recuerda que ya esta mas que lista para nietos. Aunque vivimos lejos lejos el uno del otro, eso no ha sido un problema, nuestra relacion sigue igual de cercana, llena de risas y cariño. Gran parte de la persona que hoy soy se la debo a mi madre y me alegra mucho poder compartir este dia especial con ella.

My dad is the kind of person who can make you laugh at any moment. He has a great sense of humor and is always ready with a joke. He is also incredibly hardworking and has taught me the value of dedication and perseverance. Even though we live in different cities, his support has never felt far away. He is undoubtedly one of my greatest sources of strength, and it brings me so much joy to have him by my side on one of the most important days of my life. Mi papá es el tipo de persona que puede hacerte reir en cualquier momento. Es muy chistoso y siempre esta listo para una broma. Jackie and I first met at 18, at a high school graduation party in Wastonville, California. We definitely noticed each other’s bold hair, Jackie was platinum blonde, and I was Little Mermaid red! But our true bond grew once she moved to L.A. In our early twenties, we had fun nights out, but what’s truly special is how our connection deepened. We’ve bonded on a spiritual level, shared so much, and every time we’re together, it’s pure joy and gratitude. And to this day, Jackie still works her magic, she’s not only my cherished friend, but my go-to hair genius! - Jackie y yo nos conocimos por primera vez a los 18 años, en una fiesta de graduación de preparatoria en Watsonville, California. Definitivamente nuestro pello llamativo nos llamo la ateción: Jackie era rubia y yo pelirroja estilo La Sirenita. Pero nuestra conexión creció cuando se mudó a Los Ángeles. It’s been so special to see the young lady Vida is becoming. She’s always been curious about what her Tía Kiki has going on, always making me feel like the cool aunt, and now I get to watch her start forming her own ideas and personality. One of my favorite memories with her was a whole day led by whatever she wanted, from mani pedis and cupcakes to McDonald’s and playing at the park. She didn’t want the day to end, and honestly, neither did I. It feels like just yesterday. Now, I’m so excited to have her by my side on such a special day. - Ha sido muy especial ver la joven en la que Vida se está convirtiendo. Siempre ha sido curiosa sobre lo que esta pasando en la vida de su Tía Kiki, haciéndome sentir siempre como la tía cool, y ahora puedo verla empezar a formar sus propias ideas y personalidad. Uno de mis recuerdos favoritos con ella fue un día entero guiado por todo lo que ella quería hacer, desde manicuras y cupcakes hasta McDonald’s y el parque. Ella no quería que el día terminara y, sinceramente, yo tampoco. Se siente como si hubiera sido ayer. Ahora estoy muy emocionada de tenerla a mi lado en un día tan especial.

Hector is my younger brother, but he’s always been so much more than that, he’s my best friend. We grew up together in Honduras until I was 14, and even though life took us in different directions after that, we’ve always stayed close. He’s easily the smartest in the family, but what I admire most is how funny, caring, and genuine he is. Seeing him now as a great dad just makes me even more proud to call him my brother. I couldn’t imagine anyone else standing beside me as my best man. - Héctor es mi hermano menor, pero siempre ha sido mucho más que eso, es mi mejor amigo. Crecimos juntos en Honduras hasta que yo tenía 14 años y aunque la vida nos llevó por caminos diferentes después de eso, siempre hemos mantenido una relación cercana. Sin duda es el más inteligente de la familia, pero lo que más admiro es lo divertido, cariñoso y genuino que es como persona. Verlo ahora como un gran padre me hace sentir aún más orgulloso de llamarlo hermano. No podría imaginar a nadie más a mi lado como mi "best man" de boda.

I met Diego in high school where we spent years playing soccer together after school. He’s always been a reliable friend, someone you can count on no matter what. I’ve also been lucky to get to know his family over the years, and I’ve always loved spending time with them. More than just the world's okayest dad but actaully a super dad just makes me respect him even more. Conocí a Diego en la high school donde pasamos años jugando fútbol juntos después de clases. Siempre ha sido un amigo confiable, alguien en quien puedo contar pase lo que pase. También he tenido la suerte de conocer a su familia a lo largo de los años, y siempre me ha encantado pasar tiempo con ellos. Más que solo el “papá más o menos del mundo”, en realidad es un súper papá y le tengo mucho respeto.

Miguel and I met over 10 years ago while working together as sushi chefs, and we’ve been close ever since. From the beginning, we bonded over our love for rock en español and have been to countless concerts together. We’ve shared plenty of drinks and long conversations about life, he’s always been someone I can count on for advice when I need it. And while he might have a reputation for occasionally starting a bar fight, he’s also one of the most loyal and dependable friends I have. - Miguel y yo nos conocimos hace más de 10 años mientras trabajábamos juntos como chefs de sushi, y desde entonces hemos sido muy cercanos. Desde el principio, conectamos por nuestro amor por el rock en español y hemos ido juntos a innumerables conciertos. Hemos compartido muchas bebidas y largas conversaciones sobre la vida; siempre ha sido alguien en quien puedo confiar para recibir consejos cuando los necesito. Rodolfo has been my best friend since my very first day of school after I moved to the U.S. Ever since he has been in my life as a true friend. He’s actually the reason I met my Cristina, if it wasn’t for him, our paths might have never crossed. A man of many talents, he was always there to help me fix my car, my computer, or anything else that broke along the way. Even though we don’t see each other as often now, time and distance have never changed our friendship, we always pick up right where we left off. Seeing him now with his beautiful family, I truly look up to him and the man he’s become. - Rodolfo ha sido mi mejor amigo desde mi primer día de escuela después de llegar a Estados Unidos. Desde entonces ha estado presente en mi vida como un gran. De hecho, él es la razón por la que conocí a Cristina; si no fuera por él, tal vez nuestros caminos nunca se habrían cruzado.
