Clara has lived at the Farmer's Market for ~4 years now! There are so many fun vendors to walk around and explore on the weekends. We love grabbing some coffee or kombucha from the different booths, and walking around with Maisel or Norman exploring and sampling/tasting everything! There is always fun shopping available, and sometimes even live music. This has remained a covid-friendly activity for us, and a great place to take your pets.
One of our favorite activities/date nights is exploring all of the different breweries Dallas has to offer, and this is one of our favorites! Some of our all-time favorite beers come from Four Corners. Clara loves the 'Local Buzz' Honey-Rye Golden Ale & Crayton loves their 'Heart O' Texas' Red Ale.
This place is in walking distance from our home, and one of our favorites for brunch. Crayton proposed over a picnic with their challah banana french toast, so, it's a must-try! Their patio is dog-friendly, Maisel loves their brunch, too.
Another favorite brunch spot for us. Bottomless coffee, dive-y vibes, and in a fun part of Deep Ellum. Order the breakfast #2!
Clara hates drinking coffee black, but Merit's coffee is so good you don't need to add a thing! This coffee shop is also in a fun part of Deep Ellum – grab some coffee and stroll the Deep Ellum streets for some window-shopping!
We love exploring new coffee shops around Dallas, and this is one of our favorites. We recommend being adventurous with their tea service and order one of their beautiful cheese boards, you won't be disappointed!
This is one of Crayton's favorite places – grab a pint or growler of local craft beer to-go, or, stay and enjoy! Pro-tip: order some queso and tacos to-go from their neighbor, Taco Joint, and bring your food into Lakewood Growler to enjoy with some beer! You'll often find people bringing their own playing cards or board games and making a game night out of the visit, too.
Crayton loves riding his bike off the katy trail over to here! (Sometimes he convinces Clara to ride her bike there with him). It is a fun place to bring your dog, grab one of their summer beers and a bowl of queso and you're in for a fun afternoon. It can get pretty busy on game day weekends, but it's always a fun time.
Can't beat a nice stroll around this park on a sunny day! Such a fun part of downtown dallas – grab lunch or snacks from one of the surrounding food trucks and enjoy exploring this park! You never know what type of performance or live music may be going on, there's always something happening here.
A new favorite for us (and for Maisel). The cutest pastry shop – you must get the chocolate almond croissant. It's in such a fun part of Dallas, too! Grab a pastry and some coffee and shop around the Knox-Henderson or West Village area. There is also a lower-greenville location which is in a just as fun part of town! Can't go wrong with either.
In the mood to shop? This is one of Clara's favorite places to thrift vintage pieces and/or find unique gifts from local makers.
Not necessarily a Dallas landmark, but a Texas staple for sure. Hands-down home to Clara's favorite queso. Great margaritas, great food, and great atmosphere!
Yet another Tex Mex recommendation for our out-of-town guests. You must order the queso and a Mambo Taxi!
Some of the best pizza in one of our favorite parts of town!
Another favorite easy lunch/dinner spot when we're feeling like we need to eat a little healthier... Crayton's order: the Tejano Caesar ~Zeppelin style!
Need a 1 AM meal delivered to you? This is where you go. One of our favorite places to order take-out! If you can handle some spice, order some extra sauce to add like Crayton does.
