When it all started....

Once upon a time... on Jamie's Matric vac

Jamie came down with my cousin Claire and a couple of their friends to Ballito for their Matric Vac, being the cool cousin I am, I offered to take my little cousin and her friends out for a night on the town. It was the first time I had ever met Jamie. To say that Jamie was not the blonde princess she is now, is an understatement. I am talking lip ring, black hair and an attitude that essentially scared the living bejeezus out of me. I was instantly attracted to this "free spirit" but unfortunately life had different plans for us. Fast forward 3 years to 2014... I had begged Claire not to give her cousin my number; but low and behold I was sitting in a lecture one afternoon and received a funny meme from an unknown number. 'Hi it's Craig'. That started a couple weeks of him calling trying to convince me to go on a date with him. I told him consistently that he was not my type. He told me to give him one date; and I would fall in love with him. I thought 'who does this guy thinks he is?' My mom eventually told me to grow a pair telling me; 'You aren't going to marry the guy!'. Four years later here we are... I'm marrying this guy! How cool is that? Let's do this! #HAPPILYEVERLAWRENCE

Our Proposal

Our Amazing Race of July 2017

It all started on the morning of our third year anniversary... I was told to get ready and stay in the room. In the distance I could hear the theme music from our favourite show playing! The Amazing Race. There he stood with a clue card for me. That started an eventful day of us running around Greenstone trying to solve puzzles and receiving my clues. My last clue of the day? He was taking me to frikken' Singapore! On our flight the clues kept coming. He surprised me with a trip into Universal Studios for my birthday where we spent a magical day together bringing out the little kids in us! I honestly could not think the holiday could get better.... The 10th of July we went for dinner to a restaurant called Super Tree; the view was breathtaking as we sat overlooking Singapore. I could tell he was a little nervous. I went for a little walk around. On return there it was... my very last clue. It instructed me to play a video on the tablet. This video was a photo montage including several promises to me and one last question... I turned around, and honestly just like in the movies... there he was on one knee. It was an overwhelmingly beautiful moment and I will cherish it. Every. Single. Day. We celebrated our engagement with an 'engagemoon' (dubbed by Mr Lawrence) in Bali. Call it Magic. #HAPPILYEVERLAWRENCE
