How We Met

Our story starts in middle school and while our young love wasn't successful then, our friendship was. We spent many nights waiting for 9 o'clock to hit so that we could utilize free calling; talking for hours before falling asleep. We weaved in and out of each other's lives over the years but one thing has remained the same, how much we genuinely care for one another.

Our Engagement

This year has been a year of planning and working towards our goals. Miguel had gone up to Alaska to work and was waiting for a visit from Milena and I. He had secretly planned a proposal during this trip but before that could become a reality, he was hit by a motor vehicle and broke his leg. I immediately rushed to be with him so we could figure out how to get him back home to get the best care for his injuries. He was on so many pain medications that he couldn't help but spill the beans on his plan to propose and asked then and there if I would marry him. And while he wishes he could have done what he planned, I can't help but laugh that he told on himself to everyone who came into the room, "I'm going to marry this girl, I'm going to make her my wife".

Our Elopement

Our elopement took place at The Finery on Camano Island. It's a beautiful blend of rustic and modern; nestled back on five acres, surrounded by trees specifically designed to hold intimate weddings and elopements. We loved everything they had to offer especially since we just had to show up and everything else was taken care of.
