How We Met

January 2020

So a photo proves we met at an ugly Christmas sweater party back in 2018, but we don't count that. ;) We have Walt Disney to thank for what really brought us together in January 2020. We were learning an awesome show called Villains Unite the Night with a cast full of mutual friends we both adore, but we didn't really know each other. Anthony started sliding into Sarah's Instagram DM's and Sarah swore she wanted nothing to do with guys in entertainment. After enough friends played matchmaker and we actually got to know each other for who we were, we went on a nervous date to Cafe Tu Tu Tango and the rest is history! Thanks Disney!

The Proposal

January 2023

We went to New York City for vacation because our show was dark for a week and we had never been there together, but both love visiting. It was the second day of our trip and we decided to be tourists and spend that day walking around, seeing different parks and sites. We started the day with delicious bagel sandwiches the size of our faces. Then walked over to Bryant Park which was right by our hotel. We watched the ice skaters for a while and just took our time strolling through. Next we walked over to the Rockefeller Center and saw the tree, watched more ice skating, browsed through different stores. Anthony gave nothing away as he just calmly let me walk into whichever stores I wanted to see and lollygagged around with no timeline. Meanwhile, Julie, my friend who lives in the city, was texting me asking what we were up to that day and told us to go try a donut shop called Dough while we were in the Rockefeller area. We stumbled upon it and went ahead and grabbed one to split, but were still so stuffed from our bagels so decided to save the donut for Central Park. We then hopped on a subway to head that way. We get to Central Park and, in my mind, are on the lookout for a nice spot to sit and enjoy this donut. We walk for a while and then Anthony points to this adorable nook by the water. You had to walk downstairs to get to where it had this little tucked away wooden bench with a gorgeous view of the NYC skyline. We sit on the bench and I immediately start taking the donut out to cut it in half and Anthony says hoooold on a minute, put the donut down. Haha He then proceeded to reach into his pocket and pull out a letter he had written to me that included all the amazing things we have been through as a couple and how much we have grown together. With tears in my eyes he had me stand up and took me over to the platform by the water where he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. It was absolutely perfect. Then it got even more perfect when he pointed off in the distance and showed me that my friend Julie had been hiding behind a rock this whole time snapping photos of the proposal! He had been talking to her for weeks and they worked together to find Ant's favorite spot in the park where he could imagine himself proposing. Julie helped so much! Then we enjoyed the rest of our trip telling everyone we passed that we just got engaged and were even joined in New York by a couple of our best friends, Caila and Cameron to celebrate with us. Although I would have said yes if he just asked me in our living room in Las Vegas, I could not have imagined a more perfect way for our engagement to happen.
