Same Love, Different Plans

Our New Wedding Plans

Dear Friends and Family, Amidst all of the uncertainty of 2020, we are certain of our love and of our concern for the health and wellbeing of our family and friends. Therefore, we have decided to still get married this October, in a small family gathering. We hope to celebrate with each of you in the future and thank you for your love and support during these challenging times. Love, Lindsay & Nick

How It All Began

October 2018

Despite living in the same neighborhood, working in similar industries, going to the same gym, and both having a connection to Boston, we probably never would have crossed paths if it weren't for the dating app Hinge. We matched in October, 2018 - at the start of the Red Sox 2018 World Series run. We planned a short and sweet first date at a wine bar in Chelsea. We discussed our jobs and BC football and basketball before Nick had to leave to watch the Red Sox ALCS playoff game with friends. He quickly followed up later that night expressing his interest in going out again and we planned a second date that weekend. On the second date we talked for hours, including our shared passion for spin class. After a few drinks and a plate of fries, the date ended with an awkward goodbye... so this time it was Lindsay's turn to quickly follow up and express her interest in going on another date. Our third date started with an early sushi dinner so we could catch the BC football game and game three of the World Series. The date ended... about 9 hours later after the longest game in MLB playoff history! Lindsay passed Nick's sports test with flying colors. It was 4am and pouring rain when we had our first kiss on the sidewalk outside of Smithfield Hall. After that, the rest was history!!

How He Popped the Question

December 2019

After moving in together in August, we decided to plan a "Holiday Housewarming Party" in early December. We took off work the day before the party so that we could get organized. We had a lazy morning, and Nick casually suggested getting a late lunch at the Highline Hotel that afternoon. We walked up the street to the hotel, and as soon as we were in front of it, Nick suddenly dropped down on one knee and said that the past year had been the best year of his life and pulled out a ring! After that, Lindsay doesn't remember much, but Nick says that he asked her to marry him and she said YES! :) As Lindsay slowly realized what was going on, Nick's friend Jon Frank revealed that he was there - he'd been bundled up in a hat and scarf to disguise himself and was taking photos of the entire proposal! That night, we went to dinner just the two of us. We celebrated with friends the next night during our Housewarming turned Engagement Party and later in December with our families over Christmas. It was the best Christmas gift ever!

How We're Tying the Knot

October 17, 2020

We've chosen to get married in October on Cape Cod. October is special to us because it's the month in which we met, as well as the birthday month of two of the most important people in our lives who passed away too soon - Lindsay's mom Pat and Nick's brother Chris. Cape Cod is special to us because it's a place where we've both spent time and have great memories - Lindsay with her BC roommates and friends, and Nick with his family and friends. And now, it will be the place where we tie the knot :)
