Best Man
A word from the groom: I swear we're not drunk in this picture! Maybe, well I don't know. Keith and I have been friends now for something like 25 years, college buddies, UCSD Ice Hockey teammates. We've seen some of the best concerts, hiked some unbelievable mountains, ridden some of the coolest mountains, and I feel like he's part of my family and like I am part of his. We've had some of the best drinks I can remember, and definitely some of the worst, some of the best days I can remember and plenty of nights I'll never remember happened. No matter what we did that day, I can always count on Keith to have a water and gatorade on my nightstand so we can wake up and do it all over again.
Maid of Honor
A word from the bride: This woman is my ride-or-die! She has been THROUGH it with me in all aspects of my life in such a short time of knowing one another. We've bonded over our love of cheese, wine, oysters... OH! And mimosas! Actually, it was one Mimosa Monday that really started Brett and my love story and Shannon was there egging me on! She has been team Kendra and Brett since DAY ONE! She is the sweetest woman with an edgy side that makes us just “click”. We swear we are witches & soul sisters all at the same time, so it only felt appropriate Shannon would be my Maid of HORROR!
Bridesmaid & Groomsmen
A word from the bride: Alexandra and Nolan are some of my favorite people, I want to include them in everything! My first meeting with these two was Christmas 2021 in Half Moon Bay. It was wet but we made the most of it shopping, eating, playing cribbage, and drinking... a LOT! I just had met those two and Alexandra felt like a sister and Nolan felt like a brother. Speak of sister, while my friends and I did research on Brett, we thought Alexandra was his girlfriend/wife. HA! We have taken them along with us on our adventures to Colorado, Paso, and Big Bear and have had the best time. AND! They just gave me a cute baby niece, Nora Sue! I cannot wait to make this official so I can have the coolest sister & brother in law! A word from the groom: These two are also some of my favorite people in the world. I've loved Alexandra since she was little but we've become closer than ever in our adult years. Lots of people get to love their family for family sake but Alex and I truly have so much in common, she even keeps me young and introduced me to what is now one of my favorite bands, The Dirty Heads, young enough Kendra still likes me. Life got even better when Nolan came into the picture. He's the brother I never knew I needed, he's always the best time to hang with, he has been such an amazing person in my kid's lives as well, and I am so grateful these two found each other. That being said if he continues to beat me in skiing, he's out of the family! Jk, we'll keep him.
Bridesmaid & Groomsmen
This power duo is 2/6ths (1/3 if you want to simplify) of “The Wolf Pack”. The Wolf Pack initially started when Max became Brett’s roommate at the infamous “Prism Bro House”, a place where the Emergency Department residents would kick up their feet, throw back a few beers (or White Claws for Max), and destress from their crazy shifts at Kern Medical. The “Prism Bro House” added more roommates as time went on, and then Kendra came along and that dynamic changed a bit. The “bros” were being fed home cooked meals, their bathrooms were being cleaned, and it started smelling like candles! Soon enough, it was Kendra, Brett, and Max all the time. Max started coming around less and less as he was chasing the woman of his dreams, Geocel… Dr. Castanares! She is the champagne of the Emergency Department; fresh and bubbly! It was no surprise Max was falling in love with Geocel, he loves bubbles (hence, the seltzers!) Brett & Kendra also had a great friendship with Geocel working alongside her in the ED, so it was inevitable she would fit right in. After some hush hush, the two said their vows in October 2023 with Brett & Kendra standing aside them! The couples do their best to fit time in with each other regardless of busy schedules of residency, work, and school whether it’s poker nights, ghetto Taco Tuesdays, golfing, or concerts, Max and Geocel remain close friends to the bride and groom.
Bridesmaid & Groomsmen
This gorgeous couple is another 2/6ths (or 1/3rd) of the Wolf Pack. Abdel was another "bro" of "The Prism Bro House" during their third year of residency. He is a gentle giant that works incredibly hard and has a voice of an angel when it comes singing karaoke. There were many nights of moshing in the living room and singing System of a Down at the top of their lungs during those days. Abdel was the first one of the group to make the ultimate leap and propose to his now beautiful wife Anna. Kendra had not met Anna at this point, but only heard great things. It wasn't until after one Taco Tuesday that Kendra saw the TRUE Anna after a few beverages where she ALSO was singing System of a Down at the top of her lungs! Since then, the couple fit like a glove in the brewing of these friendships. They even had taken part in planning Brett & Kendra's proposal. Brett was trying to be so sneaky with the process, Abdel suggested a hike.... Abdel doesn't hike... And Kendra caught on to that clue and still ran with it and let Brett "surprise" her! Abdel and Anna have welcomed Brett, Kendra and their kids into their immaculate non-childproof home and are the greatest of hosts of all time! If they aren't cooking the best meal you've ever had, Anna is inspiring your next purse purchase or Abdel is taking all of your money winning at poker!
Bridesmaid
A word from the bride: My sister Kristin would want to be introduced as that, but in my world, she is forever Pixie. It wasn't until our recent adult years that we've bonded over our childhood memories and find ourselves weak and gasping for air when we laugh at how the stories unfold from our different points of view. Even though she lives over 1,000 miles away, she has always found ways to stay close—whether it's through surprise visits for Brielle's birthday, crashing my spring break (not mad about it because we went to Disneyland), EARLY morning FaceTime calls, or just checking in when it matters most. Her main food groups are Bagel Bites, frosting, and Cookie Crisp cereal. With ups & downs as sister do, to grown-up heart-to-hearts across time zones, she’s been my constant. I was fortunate to be there on her big day when she married Jeremy, and I am lucky to have her celebrate with me on one of the most important days of my life.
Groomsman
A word from the groom: My cousin Vincenzo (Cenz) and I have always been close. He's more than just family, because we'd still be friends even without the family part. Whether we're rocking out to our favorite songs, hanging with our kids, or just throwing back some brews, we always have the best time. Some of you may have even witnessed some of our exclusive acoustic shows, saved for only the most prestigious of crowds. Who knows there may be a pop up show just around the corner.
Officiant
A note from the groom You've probably never met anyone quite like Eddy, aka Tall Doctor Eddy, aka Mr. Heightstown (not because he's tall). Eddy and I met in med school, maybe not the most obvious of friends at first but I can't imagine getting through med school without him. Eddy is a vibe, whatever you're doing, it'll probably be more fun if Eddy is with you, at least that's what I've found. We've moshed at Blink shows, frightened the people of Philadelphia on Halloween, survived his silver Jetta, climbed some pretty tall mountains, shared some surprisingly small tents, and have had more adventures than I can count. I got to watch him start his life with his amazing wife Sarah, and it seems fitting he be the one to help me start the rest of my life with Kendra.
