A New Orleans "second line" is a vibrant street parade, originating from jazz funerals and evolving into community celebrations for weddings, birthdays, and memorials. It consists of a first line, which includes a brass band and the honored individuals (like the newlyweds), and a second line of joyful participants dancing behind the band with handkerchiefs.
Singing, dancing and drinking! Our second line parade goes along an 8 block route throughout the French quarter. This follows immediately after the ceremony. Please wear shoes you can walk in as the roads in New Orleans are either cobblestone or uneven and it’s a long walk!
Unfortunately no.
Neither venue has parking. We recommend walking or ubering from your hotel to the venue as those are the easiest ways to get around in the quarter.
An unplugged wedding is a ceremony where guests are asked to refrain from using their cell phones, cameras, and other personal devices to capture photos and videos. Michael & I are asking our guests to participate in our unplugged ceremony to allow our photographer to capture the moment without seeing other cell phones pop up in the background! We promise to share the professional photos once we have them!
The dress code is cocktail attire. Ladies are encouraged to wear cocktail dresses, and gentlemen can wear suits or sport coats with dress pants.
Yes, we will have an open bar for all of our guests to enjoy complimentary drinks throughout the event.
To ensure we can accommodate all our beloved guests, only those explicitly named on your invitation are included. Thank you for understanding!
The ceremony will start at 4:00pm. Please arrive 15 minutes before the ceremony to get settled.
