Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Courtney Codd and Walker Weir
We love exploring the Four Corners area of the Southwest. Here are some of our favorite things to do while you are in the area!

Mesa Verde National Park

Mesa Verde National Park, CO 81330

Mesa Verde National Park is an amazing spot to visit, featuring cliff dwellings of the Pueblo Indians and beautiful trails. For a quick look, you can drive the Mesa Top Loop Road which winds past archaeological sights and overlooks. There are also many tours offered of the various cliff dwellings, tickets are available at the Visitors Center. Some of the tours require hiking and climbing ladders to view the sites, please choose a tour that will suit your adventure level.

Downtown Durango

699 Main Ave, Durango, CO 81301

Downtown Durango is full of cool shops, excellent restaurants, and historic buildings. We recommend these restaurants: Diamond Belle at The Strater Hotel: Ask the concierge to point out some of the hidden cabinets and false panels around the Saloon. The waitresses dress up in old time garments if you want to grab a bite to eat and soak in some of the old Wild West atmosphere. Steamworks Brewery: We LOVE the seasonal beer "Prescribed Burn" which is brewed with the region's famous green chili. Chimayo Stone Fired Kitchen: American cuisine with lots of variety and a focus on oven fired pizza, reasonably priced. Carvers Brewery

Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad & Museum

479 Main Avenue, Durango, CO 81301
, (877) 872-4607

Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad & Museum is right downtown!

Restaurants

4 CO Rd 124, Hesperus, CO 81326

Here are some local restaurants we have really enjoyed: Kennebec Cafe (4 Co Rd 124, Hesperus, CO 81326): This restaurant is our family's top pick, conveniently located near the Ridgewood Event Center in Hesperus. The map location is set to the Kennebec Cafe. Gazpacho (431 E 2nd Ave, Durango, CO 81301): Authentic New Mexican cuisine. Highly recommended. Zia Taqueria Serious Texas Bar-B-Q

La Plata Canyon

Canyon Creek Trail, Durango, CO 81303

La Plata Canyon is a beautiful day hike spot with campgrounds near the river and a waterfall farther up the road that you can hike or drive to. This hike is located near the Ridgewood Event Center.

Silverton

Silverton, CO 81433

The drive to Silverton from Durango is breathtaking, and it is well worth the trip to go see the old mining town of Silverton. Please be warned, while the drive is spectacularly gorgeous it is not for the faint of heart.

Aztec Ruins National Monument

725 Ruins Road, Aztec, NM 87410
, (505) 334-6174

Aztec Ruins National Monument is an easily accessible location good for all ages. This National Monument features a half mile trail around well preserved Aztec Ruins and a Visitors Center with many exhibits.

Meow Wolf
