Maid of Honor
Jordyn is my cousin and built in best friend. She has been my pillar of support throughout our whole engagement and wedding planning experience. She is a true girls, girl. From being at every appointment with me, coming over after a long day to help me plan, and knowing all the tips and tricks. I could not ask for a more beautiful person inside and out to walk through it all with me. After earning her physical therapy assistance license in Arizona she took a leap of faith and moved to Carpinteria to start her new journey as a physical therapist. We had always been close as cousins growing up but during this time we truly rekindled our relationship as two young women in our 20’s navigating the world together. She inspires me everyday, her work ethic is unmatched, her courage and willingness to continue to grow never wavers, and her kind heart always shines through her smile. After 4 years at Carp Physio and a lot of contemplation Jordyn moved down to Los Angeles from Carpinteria. Which I, selfishly, could not be happier about. She is furthering her career here and taking on the big city. Watching her blossom and grow as an individual has been a privilege for me and I hope one day, everybody has the honor of finding their own Jordyn in life. A partner in crime, a shoulder to cry on, their own personal comedian, a true best friend. Love you girl!!!!
Best Man
Nacho no matter how old and ugly you get you’ll always be my baby brother. I vividly remember the night Nash was born. My mother ran into the living room and yelled “My water broke!” At the time I was seven and didn’t comprehend what that meant but the look of terror and panic on my father’s face said it all. Baby Nacho was on the way. My father packed us into the car and drove like a madman to UCLA medical center. As the nurses tended to my mother I overheard the loudspeaker announce “GSW GSW GUNSHOT WOUND” a man had been shot, ER nurses rushed him by. My father yelled ( if you know my father he loves to yell )“Close your eyes” and of course I looked. That evening I witnessed the horror and beauty of life. I don’t know what happened to that man but I knew my brother’s life had just begun. I remember seeing Nash for the first time and falling in love. I always wanted a brother. I wasn’t always the best big brother I put Nash through a lot. I could be mean at times I was hard on him. He survived … haha… and has grown up to be a fine young man. He possess all the quality’s I wish I had. Maybe that’s why I was so hard on him so he’d grow up to be a better man than me. Nash has seen me at my best and has seen me at my worst. He’s always been by my side no matter what. I couldn’t think of a better best man!
Mother of the Bride
I only get 1,500 hundred letters to describe this super hero of a woman so I will do my best to make them count. Growing up my mom used to kneel down with a smile, make a little fist, and tell me as a young girl, to live in this world you gotta be tough, tough, tough. Something that has always stuck with me. She has taught me how to live my life with empathy and grace. How to be a kind person, not in front of others but behind closed doors. How to be a feminine woman whilst being a badass. How to love without conditions. And that you always get back up, dust yourself off, and try again. She has taught me these life lessons not with words but just be being who she is. Most of our guests know Spencers and I stories. You all know our struggles and triumphs. You know we met at a time where we were truly working to transform our lives. We came together and pushed each other to become better individually and together. But before that, my mom was my person. She was the light that carried me through the fears of change. She was the hope I didn’t have inside myself. She showed me that life is a beautiful journey, she took my hand and lead me back to who I am. I am forever grateful to have her as my mom and role model. The older I get the more honored I am when I notice those features she has, come out in myself. The little mannerisms, her sincere laugh, the cute smile lines. She is one in a million and I am so happy to have her as the one to give me away to Spencer. Love you Mom.
Mother of the Groom
My beautiful mother … where do I begin ! The heavens blessed me with this gorgeous, courageous, vivacious, fire cracker of a woman. A son couldn’t have asked for a better mom. Victoria isn’t your typical stay at home, mini van driving, soccer mom. She’s all business and all class. She likes to drive fast and kick some ass. The most important thing to her has always been to take care of Nash and I. My mother worked long hard hours to provide for us but she never missed a meal. Before school she was cooking us breakfast, packing our lunches, and always made it home in time to cook us dinner. No matter how busy she was she always found the time. If you know me well then you know a little bit of chaos followed whenever I went. Mischief is in my DNA. No matter how angry or disappointed she was in my actions she was always there. My mother has been and will always be my rock. She’s the anchor that keeps me grounded. I so grateful to have you by my side. I love you mom!
