Mother of the Bride
My main lady! The absolute G.O.A.T, my mommy!!! I could literally type up something to take up this entire page or write an entire book about her, so to avoid typing away or crying I’ll just keep it short and sweet. Words cannot express how thankful I am for her and her life! Everything I am is rooted in the sacrifices, the love, the support, & even the discipline she has shown me throughout my life. My heart and my home. I know you will ALWAYS have my back, and I’ll always have yours. I love you more than I can even say mommy.
Uncle of the Bride
My wonderful Uncle. My dad’s brother! After the passing of my dad in 2018, it hit me hard to realize he would no longer physically be here for the major milestones I would reach from then on, including this moment. Nonetheless, Uncle Lin has stepped in with no hesitation and he’s been there whether it involves checking on us, sending updates in our family group chat, or just casual conversation! My dad will be there in spirit, no doubt about that. But I truly believe he is smiling from ear to ear to know that his brother is walking his baby girl down the aisle. I appreciate you Uncle Lin, more than you will ever know.
Mother of the Groom
Mrs. Carol is the mother of one of my bestfriends, Conny. She’s very sweet and she’s like another mother to me. She means what she says and if you really know her, you know she doesn’t play! She’s my spiritual mother who’s very understanding no matter what. She’s always a phone call away and whatever I need advice about I know I can easily pick up the phone to call her.
Mother of the Groom
The one who birthed me! She’s very funny and caring, and when I really think about it, we have more like a brother and sister love versus a mother and son love. Just like any mother would, she gets on my nerves from time to time lol. However, that’s my mom and I love her forever and always.
Maid of Honor
My oldest sister, my girl! I can call her for advice, a reality check, or just a good laugh until we can’t breathe! I’ll always be grateful that she’s my big sissy. She’s the mother of two of my nephews who I love so so so much! We’ll be quick to call each other up to go to Harvest Moon and grab a good ol’ bite to eat. Those moments are priceless! She considers me as her baby because we are more years apart so I KNOW there will be waterworks from her on the big day. Grab your tissues sister!
Matron of Honor
The middle child of the bunch—my other sister! She’s the mother of my other three nephews who I also love dearly. We’re closer in age so we grew up together in my mom and dad’s house for a lot of years! There’s so many memories that we always bring up to each other and we will completely fall out from laughing so hard about them! Through all the sibling disagreements, jokes, laughs, & tears, we’ve only grown closer and now she’s not just my sister, she’s a best friend!
Bridesmaid
My 1st cousin! Our moms are sisters and I swear she’s like a sister to me as well. You can refer to her as my sister-cousin! She’s my absolute favorite and growing up she DEFINITELY was the cousin that would have us cracking up no matter what the situation was. We would be so excited when we were all together and we used to always practice asking our parents can we spend the night at each other’s house because we would never want the laughs to end.
Bridesmaid
My walking diary! This has been my girl since we were in school and over the years as we’ve grown she’s one of those that has stuck around even after graduating from high school. We’ve shared secrets, inside jokes, tears, deep conversations, and everything in between! We support each other’s businesses and she’s my inspiration as someone who’s also taking on the entrepreneur world. She recently moved out of Albany, but the distance means nothing because we always pick up where we left off. I love her downnnnn!
Bridesmaid
Lexxxx! She’s also been my girl since high school. My church sister as well! Our sisterhood grew around our senior year as we faced many life decisions and experiences during that time and we would always come to each other for advice or even to just vent. We would ride to school together senior year, even though I know I got on her nerves asking her to come get me lol! Our relationship grew even outside of school as I witnessed her become an amazing wife and mother. I’m so proud of my girl and always will be.
Bridesmaid
I initially met Gabby through Courtney. However, she and her husband James (who is a best man), have become like family to me as well! I can tell she takes on the big sister role when it comes to Courtney, but since we’ve met, it has been no different with me as well. Even though we met through my fiancé, she definitely is the friend that I can hang out with even if our men aren’t around. I absolutely love her and I’m so thankful that I’ve gained another sister/friend!
Bridesmaid
My girl “Mia Bia”! She’s another friend that has been around since school. We became great friends the more we crossed paths and interacted. From our time taking chorus together, to us also riding to school together during senior year, it was not hard at all to grow closer to Mia. She and her husband are friends of Courtney as well so although we kind of lost touch after graduating, we came back around each other after learning that Courtney is friends of theirs and it’s like we never lost a beat! She’s been super supportive of us from the start and I’ll always appreciate and love her kind heart.
Best Man
I met James my freshman year of college. To start, we bonded over music and eventually we became closer as brothers. I will forever take responsibility for introducing him and his wife Gabby because Gabby and I were best friends before I met James, so I actually played matchmaker for them! We’re still the best of friends, we talk daily, and we will always argue about basketball as long as it’s considered a sport—which is forever!
Best Man
I met Conny in the seventh grade. We were jokesters and the two most unserious people that laughed and played a lot, and we also had a lot in common when it came to basketball and wrestling. Whenever you saw me, you would see Conny. I would literally spend summers at his house—like literally my grandmother already knew where I was because Conny was my day 1. His family became my family and that still stands ‘til this day. We talk everyday and I will always consider him a best friend.
Groomsman
I met Malik in a group setting through Khalliyah and her friends. I will always consider Malik as a little brother to me and he’s without a doubt a cool and down to earth person. We check up on each other and converse from time to time and he’s been a solid guy since the day we met, which you don’t find too often. I am for sure looking forward to the growth of yet another brotherhood.
Groomsman
I’ve known Xavier for over a decade. Me and Xavier grew closer in the last few years because of the type of people we are, our beliefs, and just conversation about society and the many parts of it. He’s been a very vital part of my life when it came to milestones and life experiences and vice versa! Anytime we meet when he’s in town it’s always a good time filled with laughs and more memories to build with my brother.
Groomsman
I met Shavoyae through Khalliyah because he is Alexis’s husband. From the beginning he’s been very supportive of our relationship. I remember a conversation we had a while back in the store before I met Khalliyah. It was about finding a wife, and I received some really great advice from him! Now look, I’ve found my wife. He definitely keeps us laughing and he’s a cool guy to be around. I’m happy to have him as a friend and new brother.
Ring Security
Courtney’s son and Khalliyah’s bonus son. He’s super smart and an absolute joy to be around!
Flower Girl
Courtney’s daughter and Khalliyah’s bonus daughter. She’s such a ball of energy! There’s so many laughs shared when she’s around.
Flower Girl
Khalliyah’s little cousin. She’s an absolute doll!
