Our Love Story
Jared and Courtney met November 13, 2021 at Lamar University's Homecoming tailgate. Courtney saw Jared standing next to their mutual friend, now groomsmen Martaeus French, and knew she had to find out who he was so she "shot her shot" at him that day and they exchanged numbers. However, they didn't start talking right away as Courtney ghosted Jared trying to study for her exit hesi for nursing school. After she passed her test she immediately texted Jared, who then ghosted her as payback. Courtney posted a story on Instagram that showed her watching Jared's favorite anime Attack on Titan, & Jared couldn't help but “slide into her DMs” to talk about the show. Courtney was so surprised he had the nerve to do that after ghosting her 3 days prior, but still she couldn't help but want to get to know him. Two years, a house, & two dogs later Jared knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Courtney. On April 19th, 2024 Jared proposed to Courtney in their new home, where she said YES!
