FAQs

You have questions, we have ChatGPT here to answer your every need. Just kidding, we actually worked very hard to generate these responses. It was not AI.
Question

Why did you pick Newport to get married?

Answer

Ah, the common question! Neither of you are from Rhode Island, so why are we traveling to this random island?! Well, we have collectively lived in 7 different states (and 2 countries), so anywhere we picked would be a destination. Rhode Island quickly became a retreat for us during the pandemic and a place where we made some big decisions together, like moving across the country to Seattle! We can't wait to show off the special sea-side town.

Question

Why this day?

Answer

In the Jewish tradition following Passover, there is a period called the days of the Omer. Traditionally, Jewish weddings are not permitted during this time. The date we chose, May 19th, is the first Sunday a wedding is allowed during the Omer following Israel Independence Day.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

We would appreciate your reply no later than April 1. The reason for this being that we must provide accurate guest counts and menu preferences to all of our vendors within a timely manner. If for any reason you have RSVP'd "yes" and your plans have changed, please contact Courtney or Holden directly.

Question

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

Yes! All guests will be invited to a welcome party on Saturday, May 18th at Ragged Island Brewing. There will also be a brunch open to all attendees on Monday, May 20th at The Hungry Monkey.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We have a Black Tie preferred dress code for our ceremony and reception on Sunday, May 19th. Please not that the events are outdoors, so prepare your shoes accordingly! Other events are coastal casual - wear your favorite sun dresses, tevas, guayaberas.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

We will provide a shuttle service to our ceremony and reception on May 19th at our hotel blocks and other central Newport locations. Transportation will not be provided to the welcome party or brunch.

Question

Where should I eat and drink?

Answer

Please find a link to our favorite spots in Newport here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1wd5WxUHpD14mI6hc5Yxc4EWA6sAjo2IkHPC8H60W0io/edit?usp=sharing

Question

Where can I stay?

Answer

We have reserved a hotel block in Middletown, Rhode Island. Additionally, we have listed other recommended stays within the travel section of our website.

Question

Where should I park?

Answer

Both hotel blocks have free parking - score! Saturday and Sunday events have parking accommodations with street parking available for Monday brunch. We expect limited spots and recommend carpooling or ride sharing - especially if you want to take advantage of the open bar :). Castle Hill Inn, our ceremony and reception venue, will offer valet parking on Sunday May 19th. We will also offer shuttle services from our hotel blocks. Please indicate if you would like to opt into the shuttle service when you RSVP.
