We met while working at Panera. Courtney was 17 and Evan was 19. We both had started working there just within a few months of each other. We shared quite a few pastries together and talked about music. We started as friends (due to us both being in relationships at the time, which was fall 2013), but in the new year of 2014 we were both single and started talking regularly. We can't remember if our first date was to see The Lego Movie or putt-putt. Courtney remembers the first kiss, but of course Evan does not...and the rest is history!
We met in fall 2013 Started dating in March 2014 Promise ring given in January 2015 Moved into our apartment in March 2019 Became cat parents in December 2019 Got engaged in December 2020 Became homeowners in July 2021
Courtney almost ruined the whole plan when she unexpectedly got COVID during the week of thanksgiving 2020. The plan was already set to go to Blake's and eat in one of the private igloos. Courtney's only hint beforehand (other than knowing he had the ring for quite some time) is that he put on a nice shirt and shoes! We went with his cousin, Breanne, and her boyfriend, Nick. Come to find out Breanne had the ring in her purse the whole time so it wouldn't be obvious that Evan had it on him. Evan said afterwards that he wasn't nervous because he knew Courtney was going to say yes. To be fair, Courtney and Evan both picked out the ring, so it was bound to happen sometime...other than the fact that we had been together over 7.5 years at that point!
We found two amazing photographers that are going to capture our day. We have decided to do sunrise pictures in the mountains just us two. With that being said, we are going to have a very early morning to be able to make it to three breathtaking locations to capture for our day. We are hiking to Dream Lake before sunrise to take starry photos, then photos at Dream Lake. Next, we will be heading to Sprague Lake, which is almost where we decided to have our ceremony at because it is so beautiful. Lastly, we will be heading to Moraine Park to have a breakfast picnic and take more photos. Then we’re off to join our family and friends at Overlook Chapel to do the damn thing finally!
