For views: An incredible observatory at the top of the Four Seasons New Orleans. This will show you why NOLA is called the Crescent CIty and also contains a great interactive museum.
Courtney's favorite museum (next to the Telluride mountain museum in CO). C&C spend about 4 hours here on each trip. If you have the time, there is a movie narrated by Tom Hanks. Definitely worth a watch!
Exploring street art and buskers around Jackson Square- collecting street art is one of C&C's favorite travel activities. St. Jackson Cathedral is the backdrop of the French Quarter. On either side of the cathedral, there are museums about the history of Louisiana and history of New Orleans.
In the Warehouse District is Courtney's favorite oyster spot. Features oysters from the Gulf, Atlantic and Pacific coasts with incredible descriptions. If you're adventurous, ask for the shucker's choice where they'll pick their favorites and ask for a bump of caviar to be added. You won't regret it :)
French Quarter - A classic spot for New Orleans famous beignets. How could it be better; fried dough covered in powder sugar?! A perfect pairing is a chickory coffee from their roasters. There are multiple locations; this is Courtney's favorite for atmosphere.
Marigny District - Open kitchen concept for delicious Italian food located between the French Quarter and Marigny districts. This one requires a reservation. I know you're saying, "Courtney… Italian food in the home of Creole cuisine, really?!" I promise this is worth it. On one trip to NOLA, C&C frequented Paladar 511 three times!
Located in the Four Seasons, it's a spot these two lovers love! They are known for their gin martini with three different presentations (you know that one is for Coco… Cody isn't touching it with a 10-foot pole) and for their blue crab beignets YUM. Dripping crystal chandelier descending from the ceiling, it has the perfect atmosphere. Perfect to pair with Vue Orleans observatory (sometimes the staff will give you discounted tickets if you've been kind and expressed interest in seeing the observatory).
French Quarter - Cody’s favorite spot for charbroiled oysters. Located off the corner of Bourbon and Iberville, this place always has a line, but the oysters and food are worth it. Seated at the oyster bar, you can watch shuckers shuck hundreds of oysters while you enjoy your gumbo, po'boy sandwich, and crawfish étouffée.
French Quarter - Cody's favorite po'boy spot. CASH ONLY. He loves the fried shrimp po'boy from here. Don't worry if you don't have cash, they have an ATM inside.
Warehouse District - A sandwich and charcuterie shop that is a perfect stop on the way to the WWII museum. C&C's favorites are the pork and beef smash burger with homemade zest pickles and Mac n cheese. They call it "Le Pig Mac." 10/10 spot
Warehouse District. Their last experience here Courtney declared that it was one of the best of her life- stewed rabbit and dumplings. They source everything within 100 miles of the restaurant and have a fabulous rotating menu. Reservations necessary.
Garden District - New Orlean's only Michelin starred sandwich - a fried baloney sandwich with chips on it. This is one of Cody's favorite lunch spots. There will definitely be a line here but worth the wait.
French Quarter - for any friends who have a craving late at night, this is the place to stop. Cody's favorite fried chicken spot!
French Quarter - Located behind the French Market near the Gazebo Bar. As most know, Courtney loves to support local artists, and this is her favorite spot to seek a new piece of art. They feature over 40 local artisans of all mediums.
French Quarter - A huge record store on Frenchman Street featuring all kinds of music specializing in jazz. C&C love brass band jazz like Trombone Shorty.
French Quarter - Creative book and art shop on Frenchman Street. Lots of interesting things to explore here.
French Quarter - A nighttime, open air art market on Frenchman Street exhibiting art like sculpture, jewelry, painting, photography, and more that runs Thursday to Sunday from 7pm to midnight.
French Quarter - Another creative collective nighttime open-air art market open 7 days a week from 6pm to midnight.
