Courtney and Ben were getting increasingly fed up with online dating until they saw each other on Hinge. Ben wearing a nice, yellow shirt in his profile picture holding a cup of coffee and Courtney was smiling on a hiking adventure. She decided to send him a message first and he responded! Their relationship grew through many adventurous dates throughout Denver and Colorado Springs. You could say they had a "mini long-distance" relationship, driving back and forth between Denver and Colorado Springs every weekend. Courtney knew it was real love when she couldn't imagine not seeing Ben everyday for the rest of her life. Ben knew it was true love when he did not want their conversations to end. They shared conversation of life, faith, love, and humor. This year, around Courtney's birthday, Ben told Courtney he was planning a trip to Estes Park so that they could go snowshoeing together (Courtney's first time!). They arrived at the Bear Lake trailhead at Rocky Mountain National Park and the expedition became longer than expected. Snowshoeing turned out to be very difficult! They decided to turn back when they found out the end was still a mile away. As they took in the majesty of the snow-covered Rockies, Ben got quiet all of a sudden. Courtney wondered why and asked Ben “What are you thinking about?” Ben ended up getting down on one knee, asking Courtney to marry him! As soon as Ben knelt down, he had to get right back up because he was on the path of a very fast cross-country skier!! He knelt right back down and asked Courtney to marry him. Courtney couldn't believe Ben had surprised her so well as she thought this would be her birthday trip! Ben and Courtney are not only excited to get married, but to finally live together in the same city!
