C: I probably tried on 4 different outfits before I decided what to wear. We had been chatting through a dating app for a few weeks and the conversation flowed easily but I was nervous. It was my first date since moving to West Texas. I was definitely not looking for anything serious and just wanted to meet some new people. He made a good first impression, stepping out of a nice car with a bright smile. He drove almost an hour to meet me at a place I felt comfortable. A: The car was cleaned, I had just gotten back from the gym, and I had driven 45 minutes to meet a stranger at the bowling alley. Covid was in full swing and both of us forgot masks so Courtney had to run home and grab some. I hit up my boy Yomi to tell him about the beautiful girl I just met. I had a good feeling about this. C: Al was so easygoing. He kept asking me questions about my life, my job, my family. He talked up his bowling skills only to score about 50 points on the first game. We took turns on the second game bowling different ways: backwards, between our legs, with our eyes closed. It was so much fun just goofing around. I wanted more time to get to know him. A: I'd usually end dates at this point but she was pretty cool so we went back to her apartment to watch my favorite movie. That's when I met the most important person in my life: her dog Dixie. We hit it off right away playing fetch. Now I really had to keep dating Courtney. C: We talked right through the movie. Dixie cuddled right up to him so I knew he had to be a good guy. Eventually, we had to say good night but we kept texting after he got home and 2 days later he drove back down to take me to lunch. He showed up with a bouquet of flowers and a very sweet note. He was and still is the sweetest person I've ever dated.
