*Papis Ohana - made from scratch cinnamon rolls. There is quite the line in the mornings, so be sure to get there around 6 AM. Check their Facebook the night before going to ensure they are open. *Hula Grill - the fish & chips are our favorite! Be sure to sit at the Barefoot Bar. *Miso Phat Sushi - 10/10! The Local Roll and the Rockin Roll are our favorites. They don't take reservations and have limited space, so go early to put your name in! They don't serve alcohol, but allow BYOB! *Maui Brewing - great location for casual dining or a beer - the pineapple mana wheat is our favorite! *Monkeypod Kitchen - located in Whalers Village, they have a great Mai Tai. *Merriman's - if you're looking for an upscale dining experience and view, this is your place! *The Fish Market Maui - their poke is delicious and very fresh. *Mama's Fish House - one of Maui's most iconic restaurants. A total splurge, but an unforgettable meal and experience. This books months in advance, so plan accordingly!
December is a great time for whale watching in Maui! There are plenty of boat tours to join, but if you simply keep an eye on the ocean from the shore, you are likely to catch them breaching or swimming close by!
Maui has amazing snorkeling spots with colorful fish, sea turtles, and coral reefs. Black Rock is close to our venue and is a great location to rent gear and snorkel on your own from shore. If you're looking for a tour, we recommend finding one that goes to Molokini Crater.
Haleakalā offers incredible sunrise and sunset views. It's about a 1.5-hour drive from Kaanapali Beach area, and you'll need reservations if you plan to enter before sunrise. Be sure to do a bit of research if you plan to visit.
This natural blowhole shoots up to 100 feet in the air. It is about a 30 minute drive from the Kaanapali area. There is a short hike down to the blowhole, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes.
The Road to Hana is Maui's famous 64-mile scenic drive from Paia to Hana, known for its lush rainforest, waterfalls, and ocean views. It is a full-day car journey with many beautiful stops along the way. Lauren has put together an itinerary of the must-see spots - please reach out to her if you would like a copy.
Check out The Royal Ka’anapali Course and The Kā‘anapali Kai Golf Course if you are interested in booking a tee time on the island!
This is a great spot for shopping and dining. You'll find a mix of local boutiques and well-know brands, plus several beachfront restaurants.
Costco and Walmart are great stops for groceries, beverages, and travel supplies. They are both located within 5-10 minutes of the airport, so we recommend stopping right after you land, before heading to West Maui.
A great local grocery store. We like stopping here for anything we couldn't find at Costco or Walmart, or to restock during the week. Don't miss their poke bowls or sushi for a great snack!
