FAQs

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please notify us if you will be attending the wedding no later than December 1, 2023. Keep in mind, an RVSP does not guarantee a reserved room at the resort. You will need to book a room to guarantee your attendance. Your room will act as your RSVP. We recommend booking your room as soon as possible due to the fact that rooms are not being held for this wedding. The rooms tend to be the cheapest price you see currently and will come on a first come, first served basis.

Question

How do I book a room/airport transfer?

Answer

You can book a room on any travel site. Please keep in mind the resort requires a minimum of 3 nights booked, so please make this a wedding vacation! Also, it should be noted that rooms are not being held at the resort so once the resort fills up we will no longer be able to accommodate you at our wedding. We suggest booking as soon as possible to avoid in such issues. Please do not forget to RVSP. Transportation can be booked through the resort using Amstar and through locals found on our travel & accommodations page.

Question

What should I wear to the wedding?

Answer

The dress code for our wedding is beach cocktail. Ladies can wear a cocktail dress or elevated sundress. Men can wear lightweight dress pants/khakis or linen pants and a button down shirt or collared shirt. Jackets and ties are not necessary. All wedding events will take place in the sand.

Question

Do I get a plus one?

Answer

We want to keep our wedding affairs intimate, so please do not bring a plus one unless specified on your invitation. Due to capacity limits at both the wedding ceremony and reception those not specifically invited can still come to the resort, but it may not be possible to accommodate them at the ceremony and reception.

Question

Do I need a passport to travel to Costa Rica?

Answer

Yes! Current processing time can be up to 13-15 weeks. If you have a passport, check your expiration date. *Please Note: you cannot travel if your passport will expire 6 months after your travel date. So, if your passport expires within October 2024 you will have to renew your passport. If you plan on going on an excursion you will need to bring along your passport, have a photocopy of it, or a picture of your passport on your phone.

Question

Is this an all-inclusive resort?

Answer

Yes - the resort is all-inclusive! Your stay will include the following at no additional hidden costs: • Limitless access to gourmet à la carte dining options (total of 8 restaurants and 8 bars) • Unlimited international & domestic top-shelf spirits • Unlimited natural fruit juices and soft drinks • 24-hour room & concierge service • Pool and beach wait service • Daily refreshed mini-bar with soft drinks, juice, bottled water, etc. • Daily maid service • Endless daytime activities and live nightly entertainment (e.g., snorkeling, kayaking, dance club) • Theme parties, oceanfront bars and entertainment venues • All taxes and gratuities

Question

Do I need to exchange USD for local currency?

Answer

USD is fine. Major credit cards are widely accepted, but could be subject to high fees. In fact, most excursion/transportation vendors prefer US cash, as most do not accept credit cards. We recommend bringing cash to avoid fees and for tips. Locals prefer smaller bills up to $20.

Question

Can we come early or stay late?

Answer

Yes, everyone needs a little vacation! We recommend arriving at least the day before the wedding in case of any travel delays. Also, you need to stay a minimum of 3 nights on the resort. The wedding couple will be arriving on Tuesday and leaving the following Tuesday.

Question

What to pack?

Answer

Some tips! -Sunscreen and pool shoes -Preferred rooms have shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Non-preferred rooms do not provide conditioner. -Yeti cups are great for using by the pool to keep your drink cool -You do not need to bring outlet converts- everything is an American plug -Swim shoes or tennis shoes for hiking and excursions *Ladies- be advised, feminine products are hard to come by in Costa Rica!

Question

Can I stay somewhere else?

Answer

Dreams Las Mareas is a secluded tropical paradise which makes staying somewhere else limiting.

Question

Are children invited?

Answer

Due to our venue, we can only accommodate those formally invited. If invited, your children's names will appear under your name when you RSVP. Other children are welcome to join you at the resort, but will have to go to the kids club provided by the resort during the wedding and reception.

Question

What is the difference between preferred club and standard rooms?

Answer

Standard rooms are attached to the main-building, meaning they are close to restaurants, the lobby and nightlife, but are far from the beach (the resort is quite large and the main building does not sit on the beach). Preferred club rooms include additional perks. These rooms are much quieter as they are more secluded from the main building. Preferred club also offers private check-in/check-out and access to a member's only private pool, and private section of the beach. Additionally, preferred club offers upgraded bath amenities and access to a private lounge (which includes daily continental breakfast, afternoon hors d’oeuvres, desserts and liquors). The main difference is that the preferred club rooms come with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, whereas non-preferred rooms only come with shampoo and body wash. The preferred club rooms allow access to a lounge at the front desk with grab-and-go food and a bar and a preferred club pool. In our experience, you do need to be preferred to gain access to the lounge, but the hotel staff don’t really care if you are preferred or not for the preferred pool.

Question

Does the resort have a dress code?

Answer

Some of the restaurants at the resort do require a specific dress code, either Casual Elegance or Casual. Casual dress code includes: • Bermudas (long shorts or Capri pants), sneakers/tennis shoes and sandals. • Ladies must wear a bathing suit wrap or cover-up. • No sleeveless shirts for men. Casual Elegance dress code includes: • Sneakers/tennis shoes or sandals and dress shirts with short sleeves or collared shirts. • Long pants required for men. • No sleeveless shirts or flip-flops.

Question
