There is nothing better than summer in the Pacific Northwest, and we're so excited to share some of our favorite spots in the Seattle area with you! We've included sightseeing and restaurant recommendations close to the city center as well as some suggestions for the Woodinville area.
Pike Place Market

Seattle's beloved market is a must-see! Caitlin and Connor's favorite stops include the "world's best" mac and cheese at Beecher's Handmade Cheese, decadent greek yogurt at Ellenos Yogurt, chowder in a bread bowl at Pike Place Chowder, refreshing beverages at Rachel's Ginger Beer, and beers with views at Old Stove Brewing Company. While you're at it, check out the gum wall too!

Space Needle

Check out Seattle's iconic, 605-foot tall building that was built for the 1962 World's Fair. Since its recent remodel in 2018, the Space Needle observation deck now includes a rotating glass floor for thrill seekers.

Located next to the Space Needle, Chihuly Garden and Glass is a stunning display of glass art by Seattle's own Dale Chihuly. This is not your average art museum!

Museum of Pop Culture

Housed in the most unique building in the city, MoPOP is a museum about all things popular culture and includes several exhibits highlighting Seattle's music history (Jimmy Hendrix, Nirvana, you name it!). Fun fact: Caitlin and Connor's senior prom took place at MoPOP!

One of Caitlin and Connor's favorite parks in the city! The best spot for views of the Seattle skyline and Lake Union. Bring your favorite snacks and drinks for a daytime or sunset picnic!

Kerry Park offers some of the best views of Seattle's beautiful skyline. On a clear day, you'll get to see Mount Rainier too!

Green Lake Park

Enjoy a stroll or a picnic in one of Seattle's best parks! Green Lake boasts a 2.8 mile loop that is well traveled year round.

Caitlin and Connor love these local spots for beer/cider: 1) Fremont Brewing's Urban Beer Garden (Fremont): A well-loved outdoor brewery in Caitlin and Connor's neighborhood! 2) Stoup Brewing (Ballard): A favorite of Connor's! 3) Schilling Cider House (Fremont): Caitlin's favorite! 4) Flatstick Pub (South Lake Union/Pioneer Square/Kirkland): A fun atmosphere for drinks, mini-golf, and duffleboard!

One of the most popular hikes in the Seattle area, and for good reason! This 4-mile round trip hike boasts stunning views of Rattlesnake Lake and the surrounding lush forests.

Caitlin and Connor's favorite brunch spots in the city: 1) The Fat Hen (Ballard): An absolute favorite, though wait times can be long due to limited capacity. 2) Fat's Chicken and Waffles (Central District): The Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit Sandwich is out of this world! 3) Stone Way Cafe (Fremont): Caitlin and Connor order the breakfast burrito very, very regularly. 4) Toulouse Petit (Lower Queen Anne): Another well-loved brunch spot with amazing french toast and Eggs Benedict (and don't forget to try the beignets)!

Seattle has incredible food! Caitlin and Connor would be thrilled if you try one of their favorite restaurants over their wedding weekend: 1) Jade Garden (International District): Enjoy Caitlin and Connor's all-time favorite dim sum spot - ask them for order recommendations, and you won't be disappointed! 2) Frelard Pizza Company (Fremont): Caitlin and Connor's beloved neighborhood pizza spot! 3) Carmine's (Bellevue): A lovely Italian restaurant that Caitlin and Connor celebrate nearly all of their special occasions (birthdays, anniversaries, the list goes on). 4) 45th Stop N Shop (Wallingford/South Lake Union): An unassuming, yet the most delicious poke spot in the city! 5) Dough Zone (Downtown Seattle/International District/Downtown Bellevue): Caitlin and Connor love dumplings, and Dough Zone makes some of the best! 6) Sawyer (Ballard): Unbelievable American comfort food in one of Seattle's cutest neighborhoods. 7) Jai Thai (Fremont): Caitlin and Connor's favorite Thai restaurant!

Experience all that Seattle area wine country has to offer! There are over 130 wineries in Woodinville. Here are a few that Caitlin and Connor really enjoy: 1) DeLille Cellars: Great wine and a brand new, beautiful tasting room! 2) Chateau St Michelle: A classic and scenic Woodinville spot - the oldest winery in Washington state! 3) JM Cellars: Small, family-owned winery located in a lovely, wooded setting!

Sammamish River Trail

Sammamish River Trail, Woodinville, WA

Take a walk or bike ride along this beautiful paved trail! The Sammamish River Trail is 11 miles long, connecting Marymoor Park in Redmond and Blythe Park in Bothell (passing through Woodinville somewhere in the middle). From Blythe Park, you can connect with the Burke-Gilman Trail, which continues on 18.8 miles all the way to Golden Gardens beachfront park in Seattle.
