Guests should arrive at Point Park with enough time to park and head towards the flood wall to board The Island Belle Sternwheeler no later than 4:30pm to ensure transportation over to the island for the ceremony. The vessel will only be making ONE trip to the island for the ceremony and will depart from the island following our ceremony.
No, the ceremony will take place at The Blennerhassett Island via The Island Belle Sternwheeler that leaves Point Park at 4:30pm with a tentative 5:30pm ceremony start time. The reception will take place at The Blennerhassett Hotel in the Charleston Ballroom immediately following the arrival back to Point Park.
The ceremony will take place outside directly in front of the historic and beautiful Blennerhassett Mansion. Guests will exit the sternwheeler and follow the signage to the ceremony location. Golf carts will be provided for those who may need assistance. Handheld fans will be provided to every guest. The lower deck of the sternwheeler is covered and air conditioned for those who may need it.
We will continue to monitor inclement weather as we get closer to our date. If rain occurs during the ceremony, umbrellas will be provided to guests as needed. In the case of severe inclement weather causing the island to shut down, we have a secondary location for our ceremony which will be communicated to you via text message ASAP.
Guests will utilize the free parking lot at Point Park through or outside of the flood wall to board the sternwheeler. Guests will follow the signage to the sternwheeler pick up location. There are no parking opportunities on the island as it is not on the mainland, so it is important to be prompt in your arrival. Upon arrival back to Point Park following the ceremony, guests will head over to a private parking lot (2 minute drive; less than 1 mile from Point Park) provided by The Blennerhassett Hotel located directly behind the building. Guests may follow signage for parking at the hotel. Point Park Parking Lot Address: 113 Ann Street, Parkersburg, WV 26101 The Blennerhassett Hotel: 320 Market Street, Parkersburg, WV 26101
