Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP by April 15. The RSVP tab is active in the menu above.

Question

What is the wedding dress code?

Answer

We'd love to see our family and friends dressed up for our big day! Dress to impress in your best formal cocktail attire.

Question

What is the Welcome BBQ dress code?

Answer

Anyone traveling in will be invited to Arnar's parents home for a casual backyard BBQ. Dress code is elevated casual. Sun dresses, sandals, sneakers are all welcome.

Question

What will the weather be like in June?

Answer

Typically mid 50°F, but high 60°F if lucky! The weather is very mercurial and often times the forecast will read rain everyday BUT that is hardly the case, and if there is rain it will be sporadic.

Question

Which airport do I fly into?

Answer

Keflavík International Airport (KEF). The airport is ~30 min to downtown Reykjavik.

Question

Transportation:

Answer

There are taxis around downtown. However, if you plan to do some exploring before/after the wedding, we recommend renting a car! Most of the best sights are +45 min from the Capital. You can rent straight from the airport (AVIS, Budget, Eurocar, etc.) or downtown.

Question

Do people tip in Iceland?

Answer

No, there's no need to tip in Iceland.

Question

Is the wedding adults only?

Answer

Yes! We encourage you to use this evening as a "night out" for yourself.

Question

Is Iceland safe?

Answer

According to the Global Peace Index, Iceland is the safest country in the world. Violent crimes are extremely rare. Keeping track of the road conditions and weather should be your number one concern when it comes to safety.

Question

What currency is used in Iceland?

Answer

The Icelandic króna (ISK). 1 USD = 133 ISK

Question

Can I get around independently without speaking the language?

Answer

Most adults in Iceland are fluent in English. Finding someone who doesn’t speak English, especially in the service industry, is extremely rare.

Question

What is the food like?

Answer

The food scene is great, but Iceland is known for their seafood, lamb, and dairy. You can’t leave without trying traditional dishes, like fermented shark, skyr (yogurt), and black licorice! The bakeries are also out of this world - our favorite is in Brikk in the town called Hafnarfjodur.

Question

How much daylight is there in the June?

Answer

24 hours, baby! Most hotels will have blackout shades to help you sleep. Bring a sleep mask if you are sensitive to light, just in case.
