"They call it the Caribbean of Europe for a reason. The water’s so clear it’ll make you question your eyesight.. And that’s why everyone and their nonna flocks here: for the sun, the sand, and sweet do-absolutely-nada lifestyle."
"Though Cefalu is considered one of Italy’s finest resort towns, there’s more to do than just swim and sunbathe. The seaside spot, poised on Sicily northeastern coast, is equally celebrated for its Norman cathedral, medieval old town, archaeology museum, and seafood-heavy fare."
Palermo is quite the cultural hub, but driving there is not for the faint of heart. If you’re feeling daring, we recommend venturing into the city. Try the street food, visit the historical sites, tour the catacombs (spooooooky), or have a spritz on a rooftop! Let us know if you need any recommendations. There is also a train or bus option in Cinisi that takes you to Palermo, so this is a good option for those who don’t want to drive.
“This small museum is dedicated to the memory of the famous anti-mafia crusader Peppino Impastato (who was killed by the Mafia) and his mother Felicia (who then fought for years to bring the Mafia to justice for her son's killing). This is a most interesting and unusual site, being an anti-Mafia symbol located in the heart of what was (and may still be) Mafia territory.”
“The Capuchin Catacombs of Palermo are burial catacombs in Palermo, Sicily, southern Italy. Today they provide a somewhat macabre tourist attraction as well as an extraordinary historical record.”
A beautiful seaside staircase for photos and a short hike. "From the parking lot, follow the rocky road towards the sea, pass an abandoned building and there is a cave on the right. Then you have to go north along a steep cliff. Be sure to wear full shoes, as the road is not secured in any way."
This outdoor ceramic shop is found at the intersection of Viale Umberto I & Str Fraginesi-Costamente. The entrance is an arch made out of pottery. It has tons of Sicilian style ceramics from tiles to large vases that make great souvenirs!
