You will need to renew your passport if it is expiring within 6 months of your return date. Example: I return from Italy into LAX on September 24th, 2024. I will need to renew my passport ahead of time if it expires before March 24th, 2025 (6 months after my return date). This is very important! If your passport expires within 6 months of your return date, the airline WILL reroute you to another city or deny you entrance onto the flight. You cannot get around this.

LAX to MXP: September 8th @16:15 (SK 932) MXP to PMO: September 10th @10:50 (FR 1028) PMO to FCO: September 15th @11:40 (FR 4903) MXP to LAX: September 24th @9:15 (SK 684) In Sicily, we are renting a car to get around. In Italy, we will be taking trains between cities (Train tickets do not need to be purchased ahead of time. Purchase them on-the-go once there.)
We recommend that you book a flight from the USA into either Milan, Rome, Naples, or Florence. From there, book a separate connecting flight into the Falcone Borsellino Airport (PMO) in Sicily. This will save you tons of money. Please ask us if you need help planning this out. Once at the PMO airport, you will either need to rent a car from the airport, have a shuttle arranged from your hotel, or take a taxi. Terrasini is ~15 minutes from the PMO airport.
Expect hot and humid weather, but we will hope for nice ocean breezes :)
Please wear formal attire. The wedding is outdoors in the evening next to the ocean, so bring a sweater in case the ocean breeze picks up at night.
Things to consider in the cost to attend include flights, transportation, accommodations, food, and activities.
Check out our "Accommodations” tab. If you plan to drink the night of our wedding and don't want to drive that evening, we suggest staying at our hotel (Magaggiari Hotel) or within walking distance to it. We will be providing transportation to and from this spot that day only.
In Sicily, you must rent a car to be able to explore the island. Keep in mind that most rental cars in Europe are manual transmission. On the mainland of Italy, a car is not necessary or recommended; the train system is the best way to travel.
We recommend comparing prices amongst Sicilybycar.it and Priceline.com (or wherever else you can find a good deal). Your pickup location will be the Palermo airport in Cinisi (airport code PMO). Most cars in Sicily are manual transmission. If you need to rent an automatic transmission, the price will be higher and availability will be limited, so book these soon. If you don’t want to rent a car, arrange a shuttle or taxi with your hotel or BnB host. **You will need an International Driver’s Permit in order to drive in Sicily. You can obtain one by filling out an application and bringing it along with individually printed passport photos to a AAA office. Cost is currently $20.**
Yes! The outlets in Italy use a different voltage than the US and therefore need a travel plug adapter. You can purchase these on Amazon for around $10.
We completely understand! We will be hosting a backyard California reception at a later date in addition to the Sicily wedding. Please be sure to RSVP ‘No’ on this website so we can have an accurate headcount.
The venue is on a steep hill; please be aware and careful.
We kindly ask for only money contributions to our new home fund. You can contribute to this under our registry tab on this website.
Please only bring a plus one if it is indicated on this website when you RSVP.
Most restaurants and shops close daily around 3PM and reopen later in the evening around 7PM. A 'bar' in Italy is not like a bar in the USA. If you see a sign that says 'bar', it is equivalent to a cafe (coffee, pastries, sandwiches, etc). Tipping is not necessary or expected for services (except for tour guides; tipping is a huge part of their income). Beware of pickpockets in crowded city centers! Do not keep your wallet or phone in easy to snatch pockets or bags. If you eat out at a restaurant, you have to ask for the bill. The waiter will not automatically bring it to you.
