You will be ask to wear an FFP2 or equivalent (N95, KN95) mask while indoors during the church service.
While on public transport, you will need an FFP2 mask or equivalent (N95, KN95). Surgical masks and cloth masks are not accepted. Certain activities, like visiting a hospital, do require additional measures. While travelling, we do recommend you bring your vaccine card or an electronic copy of your vaccine card.
The primary consideration is for capacity of our venues. Our wedding and reception venues will differ significantly in size. COVID-19 could affect the capacity for the wedding ceremony. As such, please do RSVP to any event you are participating in, and we will reach out should anything change.
We recommend semi-formal, cocktail attire - the wedding ceremony will be during the day, and the reception will continue into the early evening. When in church, please make sure to cover your shoulders. Due to the gravel and cobblestone paths, you may want to wear flat shoes.
Yup, and we liked it so much the first time we decided to get married again. We had a civil wedding for legal purposes in March 2021 with a whopping 9 attendees, including ourselves. (A big thanks to Josh's brother Paul for being our celebrant!) A second wedding in a church in Italy was always the plan, and we're glad we'll be able to share our celebrations with a few more people this time around!
While we can't give a full prediction, typical Vicenza weather in early September ranges from high 50s to the mid 70s. Some days can be a little more hot or humid, but it should be rather pleasant overall! Our venues for the ceremony and reception will allow us to celebrate rain or shine.
The ceremony will be inside the church. There will be a walk (about five blocks) to the reception area, which will be outside, under the portico of the Basilica. Indoor/outdoor clothes and comfortable shoes are recommended.
The plan is to walk directly from the church to the reception, but we can take our time. There's no hurry!
There is no easy parking near the church, and a large part of the city center is primarily pedestrian only. We are encouraging everyone to book rooms relatively close to the action for Saturday evening, so that you can reach your rooms on foot. We plan on walking for approximately 10 minutes from the ceremony to the reception, but if you need additional assistance, please let the father of the bride know ahead of time. He can help make accommodations as needed.
We recommend that you arrive about thirty minutes before the start of the ceremony, to make sure everyone is on time and we can get the party started as scheduled!
We have a strict guest list to stay within the parameters of the church and the venue. Our wedding is strictly RSVP only. We will only able to accommodate those listed on your invitation. We have to keep the wedding small, and we are sorry we won't be able to have all our friends and family with us, so no additional guests are possible.
