It was a beautiful summer day on the San Antonio Riverwalk. We stumbled amongst each other outside of Justin's Ice Cream Shop. I was waiting for my family to finish the river tour, sharing my ice cream with Layla. He was catching Pokemon with his cousin. He approached me to pet her and said "Are you waiting for someone?", "Do you mind if I sit?". Id like to think of this moment as cosmic love at first sight. The connection was instant and genuine. We exchanged phone numbers, and talked for hours over the next few weeks. He experienced his first of many Mexican events as my plus one and booked business meetings in Austin. I would drive down to Htown to visit on the weekends. We spent the next six months hanging out. He taught me how to surf at the Austin Wave Park, "NLand", and longboard at parking garages. I even got into playing FIFA for a good while. Our friendship bloomed into something more. After winning a FIFA championship, he told me he loves me, and asked me to be his girlfriend. *blush* During the seven years that followed, we have had so many amazing adventures together all over the world. Life has thrown a handful of curve balls our way, which we have learned to go through and grow from, together. We have put time into understanding our traumas by revisiting our childhood, our culture, our past. It takes great courage and vulnerability to take down walls, to let each other in, to break chains & build new ones. We have known for a long time that we were destined to be together. To have each other to go through this life with. "If this is forever, what's the rush?" We definitely did not rush to make it official to society. At last, our time has finally come.
