Like all great modern love stories, ours began on Tinder. We both had our profile photos taken in the same incredibly romantic spot: in front of the whale penis at the Icelandic Phallological Museum. Even better—we were both pointing at it and making the exact same face. Clearly, it was meant to be. Although neither of us was looking for anything serious—we were both living lives in motion, with Corynn working as a travel nurse and planning to leave town in a few months, and Stefan gone for weeks at a time fighting wildfires—we found something real almost instantly. We clicked right away and quickly became each other’s favorite person to do everything with. Stefan won over Corynn’s heart by first winning over her dog, Zeke (a very good boy and an even better judge of character). We fell in love exploring Northern California in Corynn’s travel van—finding the best hidden lakes, river spots, redwood groves, and stretches of wild coastline to share s’mores, spot banana slugs, and let the dog run free. Eventually, we added another dog (hi Otis), bought a house in our favorite place on Earth—Humboldt—and then had the sweetest, wildest adventure yet: our daughter, Dahlia. Now we’re getting married, and we’re so excited to celebrate with all of you who have loved us through every leg of the journey.
