Cascade Falls is located almost in town, so it is a great sight to see if you are short on time, or prefer a short walk over a hike.
Get a glimpse of the canyon that forms one of the world's most famous ice climbing parks. The park is on CR361 - off Highway 550 just south of Ouray.
We recommend watching the original 1969 western "True Grit" before your trip. It was filmed in and around Ridgway, CO and you may recognize landmarks from the film during your trip. Pay attention to the shootout scene at the end - you will be standing in this exact spot as we say our vows!
A nice day hike that goes around the city of Ouray and provides great views of the town.
This hike will take you to the top of Courthouse Mountain in the Cimarron Range East of Ridgway. It takes the same road that leads to the ceremony spot, so it could be a great way to get acquainted with the area prior to the wedding. This hike is steep and is for the more ambitious hiker, however a drive up to this beautiful area would suit anyone!
The OG Colorado Boy Brewery, and one of our favorites! Spend some time in Ridgway spotting buildings from scenes of the 1969 film True Grit, then go order an Irish Red at Co Boy! Don't forget to look north across the street from the brewery to see the art studio where the Grammy awards are made!
Take a scenic drive to Telluride to see the fall colors and enjoy this historic mountain town - consider extending your trip to spend time here. Take a photo stop at Dallas Divide, one of the most photographed spots during the fall season. If you have a high clearance 4WD vehicle, you have the option of taking the beautiful and rugged back road to Telluride via Last Dollar Road.
At 4 miles round trip, this hike is a great way to spend part of your day, as you will be rewarded with the stunning view and refreshing mist of Bridal Veil Falls. If you have a high clearance 4WD 4X4 vehicle, driving is also an option.
