We advise all guests to stay in Ouray, Colorado if possible, as this is where the reception will be held. A hotel, bed and breakfast, or Airbnb that is walking distance from the Wright Opera House on the south end of Main St. is ideal, especially if you plan on having a few celebratory drinks!
The ceremony will take place outside of Ridgway, CO at the base of the Cimarron mountain range, while the reception will take place in downtown Ouray, CO.
The ceremony location at Deb's Meadow is approximately an hour and five minutes from downtown Ouray, CO. You read that right. While we know this is much farther than most weddings, we have intended the drive to be a part of the experience. We hope you will think of the drive as an opportunity to enjoy the autumn beauty and fall colors that will surround you as you wind up and down the mountain road. Please plan accordingly and give your self extra time to get to the ceremony location. We recommend 1 hr 30 mins at the very least to get to the ceremony location, park, and walk into the meadow.
We prefer an adults only celebration and we understand it can be difficult to arrange for childcare. Please do your best to plan for an adults' trip. With that in mind, the reception is adults only with the exception of any child under 2 years old if you have no other option. At the ceremony all kids are welcome.
Yes! Welcome to the wild west. The ceremony location at Deb's Meadow is accessed by a dirt mountain road. This road, or County Rd 8, is dirt and can be somewhat rough with washboard, potholes, and, if the weather decides to be moody, could be muddy or icy. If you are renting a car, please consider a vehicle with adequate clearance and all wheel drive or 4wd capabilities. Same suggestions apply for your footwear! The meadow is home to free range cattle for part of the year, so boots or shoes you don't mind getting roughed up are your best bet. Leave your stilettos and finest dress shoes at home, or save them for the reception!
Your save the date and invitation will indicate each invited individual with either a name listed or "and guest" listed. Please do not bring anyone who is not indicated on your save the date or invitation.
You will be able to RSVP on this website after you receive your formal invitation. Expect to get an invitation in mid July.
Please arrive at least 30 minutes early, (so 3pm at the latest), as you will likely need to walk for a few minutes from where you park to the ceremony location.
Short answer is there is not a strict dress code. Long answer is we recommend cocktail attire as a general guideline. This is a mountain wedding, so very formal outfits are not required. Wear something that makes you feel good!
Yes, please check our travel page on this website. We do not have any formal room blocks, as this is a rural town with limited lodging. Not all lodging options are listed on our travel page. Airbnb and Vrbo can be a great way to go as well!
We will have gluten free, vegetarian, and vegan options available at both the cocktail hour and dinner reception. If you have an allergy that is more specific, please feel free to contact Ethan and I.
Yes, while we do not expect gifts, we are registered through Zola and it is displayed on this website on the Registry page. We do not have many physical items listed as we would prefer gifted contributions to our newlywed/honeymoon fund.
Parking for the ceremony will be along county rd. 8 near the ceremony site and is limited, so please coordinate carpooling as much as possible. There is no formal parking area for the ceremony. We will have signage and friends dedicated to helping with directing parking as you arrive. Parking for the reception is just street parking in front of and around the venue. Since it is a small town, you very well may be able to park at your hotel and walk to and from the reception.
Yes! Please stop by our casual Farewell Brunch in Fellin Park in Ouray Saturday morning. Details can be found on the schedule page of this website.
